Alaska Darin Posted March 25, 2005 Author Posted March 25, 2005 Do the rules depend on your whim, pending deletion of this thread? 287430 Yes.
R. Rich Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Never. I'm too busy deleting. 287433 Of course.
Alaska Darin Posted March 25, 2005 Author Posted March 25, 2005 If TY Law visited over a month ago, why hasnt he signed yet? That is a question right? 287431 1. Uh, because he can't pass a physical? 2. <Picture your 3rd grade teacher speaking to you while agitated> "There are no stupid questions. Only stupid people asking questions."

rockpile Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 I have problems detecting sarcasm, could you please let me know if you are being sarcastic or not? You are required to do so under section 10.4 of the American with Disabilities Act. 287424 I was asking a question, to get people thinking. Now, Maundy Thursday makes sense. Don't believe me, google it (GG needs the nickels anyway). But "good" Friday makes no sense to me since it is said to be the day one of history's greatest prophets was nailed to a cross and killed.

aussiew Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Perhaps it was "Goodbye Friday" and the name was shortened at Ellis Island.
rockpile Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 From Wikipedia: "In Early Modern English, Good had a meaning of 'holy'." 287447 Thanks. Makes more sense than "good" to me.

rockpile Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Perhaps it was "Goodbye Friday" and the name was shortened at Ellis Island. 287449 You are talking to someone whose name changed from Bengtsen to Benson at Ellis.
Gavin in Va Beach Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 You are talking to someone whose name changed from Bengtsen to Benson at Ellis. 287454 Change it back?
R. Rich Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Hey Darin, what do you think of the job Donahoe has done so far this offseason?
aussiew Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 You are talking to someone whose name changed from Bengtsen to Benson at Ellis. You hold your age well.
IDBillzFan Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 It is named Good Friday because it was a year ago on this day that my wife found out she was pregnant. Which is why if you click on my screen name, you can see what's so good about it.

Have you begun thinking 'Holy crap he's growing fast!" yet?
aussiew Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 So cute LA. And that wide eyed look? Is he staring at someone's ya-yas?
Alaska Darin Posted March 25, 2005 Author Posted March 25, 2005 Hey Darin, what do you think of the job Donahoe has done so far this offseason? 287459 Being the patient man I am, I'm withholding judgement until training camp.
rockpile Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 You hold your age well. 287468 OK, truth be told, it was my great-grandfather Anders Johann Bengtsen who got screwed on the name. They changed it to Andrew John Benson. He signed his naturalization papers with an "x". Not that there is anything wrong with that.
