Dr.Sack Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Give Allen AJ Green or Julio Jones and amazingly he performs at a higher level. 1

Let’s just not repeat history and make another bad draft day decision by trading up for a WR to help our 2nd year QB. Learn from history.

YAY? He said Josh was 9th last week. Anyway....23rd is not horrible for a rookie
msw2112 Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 (edited) Let's hope we can find our AJ or JJ in the draft. Allen's stats and the offense's performance would be SO much better if the WRs could hang onto the ball. While Allen's accuracy isn't perfect, he puts a lot of balls in the "catching radius" of the WRs and these guys are not able to hang on. Even some sure handed guys like Cooper Kupp would be a huge help - we don't necessarily need athletic freaks (although an athletic freak with great hands would be nice to have). NOPE LOOSER! When Allen accomplishes leading a team to the playoff's, and doing some damage in said playoff's, then I would feel comfortable calling him a winner. However, as of now? No, not yet. 1

Tatonka68 Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Right now Allen's play and stats are his floor. He is a rookie, playing with 3rd string talent and still won 4 games. When you add even an average NFL offensive line, wide receivers that don't drop passes and more experience his numbers including wins will go way up. 2

Clay would have had to come out of the endzone to catch that, which IMO he should have because no one was close enough to him to stop him before he got back in. It was a dropped ball, but also a bad throw.

Mrbojanglezs Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 To all completion % snobs. JA has no rb, TE, slot receiver to throw screens and dump offs too and the line is not athletic enough for screens. These throws pad comp % JA pushes the ball down the field. He will have high yards per attempt / YPC numbers but lower comp % Thats fine with me especially for the time being... As time goes on and our line is better and can actually block for screens and we get more players that can be a safety valve for JA his numbers will go up. That coupled with better receivers/tight end that can catch more reliably. But low 60 high 50 % may be the ceiling for his type of down field attack game... 3
