Oh yes, there's a ton of Freudian projection going on around here every day.  Folks project their thoughts/feelings onto the team, and vice versa.  The 2 personalities merge and a lot of posters can't distinguish the concept of self from the Bills team.

It's why, for example, many here are so defensive.

It's also why we have 3 or 4 threads at any moment in time trying to re-assure others than Josh Allen is the real deal and a future franchise QB success.

These posters are simply projecting their fears and insecurities onto others; they are not convincing you of Allen's success, they are trying to convince themselves.  It comes from an inner repressed fear that he will not be good enough.

It can be entertaining.

Glad us fish in the bowl can be so entertaining to the enlightened. I am not repressing anything I will have you know... I have genuine, transparent, open, and obvious fear that if Allen does not make it as a Bills QB the team will go another decade in obscure rebuilding and front office turnover.

As for projecting or investing emotion onto a team or player, fans do it all the time for a variety of reasons - most of those reasons are not that terrible.

I was happy to see the Steelers beat the Patriots yesterday.  I was also happy to see Brady have to get up off the ground almost every time he threw the ball.

But as I reflect on the past nearly two decades, I can't help but think that Tom Brady and Bill Belichick have earned the right to leave the game as champs.

There's never been any off-field drama or issues.  No broken laws.  They've been, arguably, the most professional organization in the NFL for the past 20 years.  Sure, Belichick's pressers are boring and don't give any information, but I think that's an art and I love to see it.

Brady has been putting on clinics, week after week, for all football fans to enjoy.  We can root for them to lose, but we can also appreciate stellar football, which is what he/team have been putting on display on a very consistent basis.

With the Bills out of it and the Patriots' run clearly coming to an end, I'd like to see them hoist the Lombardi Trophy one last time.  It nets them the last pick in the first round (good for Buffalo) and will likely secure the retirements of Brady, Gronk and Belichick (also good for Bills).

And, frankly .... they deserve it.

Bless your heart.

If you don't agree that this threat would light a bad response then idk what to say!'

If I created the thread for the sole purpose of lighting a fire, then it would be a troll.

I knew it wouldn't be well-received.  But it's how I feel and I think it's a decent topic to discuss.

I still harbor resentment toward Preston Brown for his complete lack of a response there.

absolutely. He should have rammed a knee so far into gronks kidney that he'd be pissing blood for a month.

Yep your a 100% troll then. Nice try. You new it would not be well received then you put all these sad faces because its not well received.. knowing so.

The fact of the matter is, it does not matter if you did it to be a troll post or not because you DIDNT CARE!. You later claim to hate Brady and the Patriots yet you respect them enough that you think they deserve a ride to win the SB? That's just TRASH and you know it. You cant have this both ways. sorry. 99% of the Bills fans HATE Brady and HATE the Patriots.. Do you see one of them thinking.. hmm.. I think they deserve another SB win and go out in the blaze of glory?

give me a break!

So if someone starts a thread saying Jim Kelly isn't a top 10 (ever) QB - and it pisses people off - then you'd consider that a troll thread?

For many years, I hated the Braves, Bobby Cox and Chipper Jones ... but I respected the hell out of the manager, player and team.  I'm sorry your brain may not be equipped to understand the differentiation.

No because that's a topic that can be argued one way or another.. This topic is clean cut. You think a team ANY TEAM for that matter deserves a last SB to ride out in glory and NO TEAM deserves that. Your post cant be argued.

I’m just going to sit back and let @SDS and @Hapless Bills Fan decide his fate and the fate of this thread.  As for now let’s just see what happens.  I’ll be having some Typhoo tea looking forward to the Bills making his beloved Pats a Wild Card team which goes down in flames in the first round!

I get that you respect what they’ve done but I, for one, believe they’ve won enough and would much prefer they go out losing.

Both have cemented a spot in the Hall after owning the AFCE for decades. That’s sufficient.

I think I would like to hear what @SDS and or @Hapless Bills Fan are going to do about threads like this.. now and in the future.
