How bad are things when your starting OG is healthy scratch in December?!?!

The youth movement started weeks ago. It's not a suprise as he's been inactive for three games in a row.

If I’m Vlad, I ask for my release.  Guaranteed that teams would pick up him up.  Line play in 2018 is dreadful.  Vlad is at least slightly average.

After three games of "healthy scratch" I would have to say he's no longer the starting OG

Ducasse has been a problem at LG all season.  I didn't like him at RG last season.

I think it's interesting that he's finally having a seat, because Juan Castillo was hired before Dennison, one of McCoach's first hires, and he seems to have brought Ducasse with him.

Ducasse is strong and seems to have sound technique, but he plays as though his brain is filled with molasses.  He just seems very slow to react.

But Castillo kept him on the field and stuck with him.

So if Ducasse is having a seat, is that a sign that Castillo can "number his days"?

From the all-22, the blocking scheme does seem to have been changed up quite a bit since the start of the season.  Much more direct, "beat your guy".

If you're Vlad, you don't get it.  Or at least you shouldn't.  The priority of a football team is to maintain a roster including depth.  You don't get to pack your bag and ask to go home just because you don't like your playing time, in the NFL no less than the PeeWee league.

Vlad is a rotational slug OG at best.

He had a good 8 game run last season. But that is about the best run of his career. He is normally well below average and reverted to that this season.

Vlad was never hurt. He was always a healthy scratch.  Miller is active. He was hurt with an oblique last week.  I think MIller is still in the mix to be brought back next year. Probably less than 50/50. It will all depend on where they want to spend their money.  If they go C, WR, TE in free agency that won't leave much left for a high priced G.

Would you rather have Miller and a new Center or Bodine and a new OG?  I would rahter pay for a top tier C and find your guards on the cheap or in the draft.  Either way they need to spend big dollars and/or high draft picks on the interior of the line.  And that still leaves TE #1, TE #2, and RT as problem areas.... yikes

I find it facinating that Vlad, yet again, is not active.  I also don’t remember hearing that he was injured.  So is Vlad hurt or are the Bills giving him the Kelvin Benjamin treatment?

How is it fascinating?  He's not any good.
