Phil The Thrill Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Believe it or not, the mock drafts are already coming out. Of course in December before Bowl games, Senior Bowl, scouring combines and player visits, these mean nothing. But there are a few trends that I’ve seen emerging based on players which are thought of to be high prospects: - This Draft has a lot of defensive talent rated high. - There’s not 1 overwhelming top prospect at QB (like a Baker Mayfield last year), but several “maybe” players which could high. - Several teams are expected to reach for a QB given their current situation (again this could change through FA/trades) - There is some first round talent at WR, OL, and TE but DL and QB may be a higher priority for teams. So given these early trends and the need for the Bills to improve talent on offense, would you support the idea of the Bills trading down to acquire an additional late 1st or 2nd round pick? Or would you stand pat (I’m assuming they’ll be drafting toward the top of the middle of the draft) and take a CB or defensive layer who might be able to start on day 1?
Bangarang Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Tell me where we are drafting and who’s available still.. 4 1
ghostwriter Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Trade down twice if you can. There's talent in every round. 1
Rufridr101 Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 This draft is top heavy on defense. The bills need offensive lineman and weapons which none of them are heads and heels about the rest so if possible trade back makes more sense. 1
The_Dude Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Who’s on the board and what’s the compensation and how deep is the draft?
TroutDog Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Generally speaking, given the number of holes on this team, benefit would be had by trading down. With that being said, if there is a blue chip player at the draft position, you take him. 1

/dev/null Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Why trade down from the 32nd pick? It's still possible...

If we can add 2 OL and a WR before the draft, that first round being BPA isn’t awful. 57 minutes ago, TroutDog said: Generally speaking, given the number of holes on this team, benefit would be had by trading down. It’s not a train wreck where we have “meh” talent across the board as much as having a few catastrophic spots. A few key pieces goes a long way next offseason.
Albany,n.y. Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 They'll be picking around 15th, no reason to trade down-take the best OL, WR or TE. The OP still is thinking we'll be drafting in the top 10-look at the schedule-we won't. I'm almost never in favor of trading down other than getting 1st or high 2nd rounders. You trade a known commodity for an unknown. Fortunately, Beane understands that trading up gives the team an advantage of taking a player the scouts have as worth it who you wouldn't otherwise get if you stand pat.

Charlottebillsfan2 Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 I wouldn't support the Bills making any decision about the draft on December 9th.
The Senator Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 I would make that decision on 4/25/19. (I’m still hoping for Jonah Williams.) .
