billsbackto81
While I'm glad that the refs are being held accountable for their actions verbal or otherwise I certainly hope this doesn't backfire on us. Refs like owners are most likely a tight knit group and will probably stick up for their own when authority is questioned or disputed. But as Bills fans I guess we can always say, " can it get any worse" ? 1

Look at how teams rough up Allen and they get away with it. Feel like it's not always a fair game.

Which is a shame. The refs should not be part of the game. The NFL is drowning in this crap. They finally fixed the stupid rule about not completing a catch if you lose it falling to the ground. They started the year with the impossible rule about not falling on a QB when you sack him, but they seem to have backed off on that. I'd like to see the rule book from about 1980 brought back. Let defenders play. Let all the players play. It's a tough game, not a dance where every move has to be choreographed a certain way, or a penalty gets called. If that happens it will be bad for the league. The REFS are already a huge talking point right now. You even point that out. This Ref has been caught numerous times. That is a shame. In all seriousness, I kinda like the way this team is starting to show some real aggression. Two weeks in a row their still fighting mad in the tunnel. Coach may really be onto something about the guys not backing down.

OldTimeAFLGuy
....now his Union says HE is the victim....shocking isn't it??......... Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer 11:43 AM ET The NFL Referees Association said Wednesday that it expects umpire Roy Ellison to be cleared after an NFL review of a confrontation between him and Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes following Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. "Video from last week's game shows [Ellison] was verbally threatened by a player who has a well-documented history of abusive language and inappropriate actions towards our officials," NFLRA executive director Scott Green said in a statement. "While we are disappointed that the NFL has yet to address that aspect of the incident, we look forward to working with the League during its review and will ensure that Roy's rights are protected during this process." Yes, like that time he patted a teammate on the head and got called for unsportsmanlike conduct. Or that time he complained about getting an unsportsmanlike conduct call for patting a teammate on the head and got called for unsportsmanlike conduct. Or that time he watched Tre White get clocked by Gronk and got called for unsportsmanlike conduct. Very well documented.

Just Jack
Ellison may be on his way out.... https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2019/01/27/super-bowl-nfl-umpire-roy-ellison/2678053002/ Quote He has drawn high praise from Scott Green, executive director of the NFL Referees Association. Yet a year after Ellison officiated in his second Super Bowl, two of his close friends told USA TODAY Sports that Ellison fears the NFL might force him out despite a distinguished, 16-year career. “I know he’s concerned,’’ said Jerry Williams, whose friendship with Ellison dates back to their high school days in Lakeland, Florida. “You got a guy that has his career and future in jeopardy.’’ Despite officiating in Super Bowl XIII in 2008 and Super Bowl LII in 2018, Ellison is likely best known among NFL fans for something less exalted: Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes accosted Ellison on Dec. 2 after the Bills lost to the Miami Dolphins 21-17. Television cameras captured the moment and the video went viral.
