I don't know but maybe it has something to do with Anderson & Peterman going to the check down  all the time?  I mean you aren't going to drop to many 5 yard passes on 3rd & 10 that the defense doesn't contest because they want you to catch that ball.  This is the limitation of the analytics guys - they jump to conclusions when presented with the numbers often not considering the most likely factors explaining those numbers.

I think you are being overprotective here. It's a negative reflection on the receiving corps not Allen.

You might be right but I took his point as being along the lines of Allen has more drops because he throws the ball to hard.

Every metric matters. Fitztragic and his INT's will always rear their ugly head when it matters most. But the guy can be a prolific passer.

He only has a few more than Allen. I think INT% is probably one of the most important stats.

Brees just has it all this year...

Brees is slipping right now, but I don't really disagree with anything you said. Drew seems to have gone downhill since that whole silly in game ceremony. Not a fan of those.

Hmmm...assuming drop rate is calculated purely on what's considered (albeit subjectively) as catchable passes, then it seems the problem is that Allen's ball is tougher to catch for whatever reason.  Probably velocity, but who knows.

Good context though.

His velocity is a bit of an issue for his wrs.  I will argue that and the wrs comfortably running propper scramble concepts is due to his limited reps in the offseason.  Noodle arm Peterman and McCarron threw soft balls and Allen throws fast balls.

He is beginning to show the ability to throw accurately with more touch when the situation calls for it.  The clutch pass to Croom on the game sealing drive being just one such example from the game this past Sunday.

I agree, and it’s HUGE in terms of what he might become.

Yep. Now start Matt Barkley dammit!

You can teach Josh to throw a Peterman-ball. You can’t teach Peterman to throw a Josh-ball.
