It’s going to happen. NFL refs are the single worst thing about sports and these guys jobs are on the line. A big call will go the wrong way and a guy on the edge of control will lose it. Unless Godell wakes up real soon and finds a way to rectify the atrocious officiating, it will happen. I can’t remember exactly which game but it looked like McCarthy was close to this scenario after one of Clay Matthews’ questionable roughing the passer calls earlier in the year. The official was backpedaling away from McCarthy as there were some Packers’ staff between the two.

I think it will be completely reactionary and in the heat of the moment. Maybe a lineman or someone that’s been getting frustrated all game. Then gets a roughing call or something that costs his team a big game and he just will swing on a guy. Maybe a LB on a defenseless wr or something. A guy like Burfict
row_33 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 In the NFL they cut you on the spot and no more checks its a big toner down of behaviour Just now, Brianmoorman4jesus said: I don’t think so. I saw the video and heard the actual "B" word. Silly but we may end up losing Hughes for a game. Could be the ref said "stop Bitching" and Hughes reacted. No doubt a fine is coming. Unless this is recorded the NFL will side with the refs for sure.

I just see it happening. Not saying it’s right. Just saying the way calls are trending, I see it ending bad at some point. Refs are taking the game out of the players hands to often and there is pressure on these teams to perform and win. I’m not agreeing with it, I just think it’s out of hand and I’m not sure where that gets better.
Matt_In_NH Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Hughes is passionate. I like that but this was completely stupid. Nothing good could have come from it. Focus on what you can control Jerry.

dgrochester55 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Unfortunately Hughes's action will have consequences, but if we are all honest, this is exactly what most fans and many NFL players feel like doing after seeing how bad the refs have been recently.

They are undisciplined and outmatched. 1

The Pegulas? I seriously doubt they care. It's practically a term of endearment on the field, like me calling people "idiot" here. They do not call you "idiot" here. They call you "The Idiot" like "The Batman" or "The Flash" which means it is a term of respect.
Kelly the Dog Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 I thought the officiating was pretty bad too. Inconsistent. But the PI call on Milano was the right call. He interfered before he went for the ball. The reversal on Zay Jones was the right call. The unsportsmanlike on Phillips was the right call even though it was petty. Even the head tackle on Josh may have been the right call. At first I thought it was awful. But he was grabbed by the jersey and thrown down. Only right at the end did the Dolphin have his helmet. After he was already on his way down. He wasn't at all tackled by the helmet. Yes, they could have called a penalty but it looked way worse than it actually was. 2 hours ago, Dadonkadonk said: Officiating can and should get better. I am so sick of the referees screwing us over game after game, year after year. The league needs to be put on notice that we won't put up with it anymore. Mad as hell...
Seoulful Soul Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Personally, I'm sick of the refs blowing calls Mr. Magoo could see and the league defending them like they are infallible. This crap needs to stop. Refs need to be say down with a league evaluator after every game publicly and shown every game film from every angle, then asked "how is this a foul?" How did you miss this foul?" "Why didn't you call this?" Then start fining them for every blown call and every BS foul they thrown or miss. You will see their quality improve immediately.

Wow. . .instead of being impartial judges, they are thin-skinned, vindictive snowflakes that will take it out on teams that don't kiss their *****. No wonder most fans thinks referees are awful. 1
GETTOTHE50 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 The refs inconsistency from game to game is concerning, and maddening. It ruins the game. Holding happens every play in the NFL. It almost shouldn’t even be a penalty anymore. 3 hours ago, row_33 said: But but but I thought full time NFL officials would usher in a new heaven of better called games..... I remember Ravens fans applauding them their first game back after the hold out. It was sickening. Felt like they were cheering for the emperor in Star Wars 1
