Before the news about two other incidents came out, I would have confidently said he'll play again, and soon. Now I'm not so sure. I still think someone will ultimately give him another chance, but I don't think it's a definite anymore.

Agreed, talent trumps controversy in the NFL. There is a list of players you could run down to cite this truth.

not with this bad pub, reduces his chances

not to 0%, for now...

Trust me, I wouldn't sign him nor do I want the Bills to. I do however think that some team will try to spin the whole "he's changed his life because of what happened" shtick and sign him because of the numbers he's put up already.

He'll play again.

Not for quite some time, if at all.

And, if he does, it will be for peanuts and not for a dynamic offense like KC has.

In essence, his career is pretty much over.

I doubt that, but we'll certainly see.

hasn't worked for anyone yet, RBs aren't really that valuable

You are correct.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I think he is done. We shall see.

I have to believe the NFL ownership has evolved into acting as a group with these major PR situations.  It’s not like Al Davis is gonna ride in and sign him against the group’s wishes.  If the league decides to blackball him like Rice, he’s done.

Beyond the physical altercation, the manner in which the hotel staff on hand and police on scene handled the situation is truly sad.

On top of that, the NFL seemed to do very little to pursue additional details about that evening, UNTIL TMZ released the video...again disturbing.

I'm a diehard nfl fan, but situations like these are what the 'skeptical' public eye hold onto to paint a bleak image about the league and its athletes.

At this point, Hunt would have been better off if the NFL did their due diligence from day 1.  Usually, more harsh consequences result from an organization in 'damage control' mode.  Suspension might be less than a season, but strongly believe that all teams will be encouraged to stay clear unless they are "100% certain" that he will stay out of trouble...cant see a team willing to take that risk and public beatdown.

I agree with the poster above, I don't see Hunt coming back from this.

Gotta love the 'one night out' narrative trying to minimize the incident;  as if Hunt was an altar boy his whole life until 'one night out'.   Let me guess...things somehow got out of control!

It reminds me of the tongue-in-cheek comment I'm always using whenever OJ's name comes up.

The dude was a ground-breaking football player who went on to show his global marketability with TV commercials before landing iconic roles in an iconic movie franchise. He thrilled and entertained us for over two decades. The guy had ONE bad night and suddenly people don't like him?

You'd love the Urban Meyer retirement thread then.

Yoyo literally declared that Honest Urb had just "one weakness".........loyalty.

In that case apparently to his chronic wife beater assistant coach........and yoyo goes on to note how we usually admire loyalty.

Hunt is getting what he deserves and he's going to get a little extra too because teams just don't value RB play enough to stick their necks out very far for one.

I do often waffle back and forth about how much the nfl should really be investigating employees off field beyond mandatory reporting of any arrests/charges to the league.

At this point hunt wouldve been better off if handled handled differently by HIMSELF, right?

Should they pay National Enquirer prices for videos and use them against a player?
