From what I saw he hit her first and then she hit back and then ..well, he pushed both of them to the ground and then he did kick her.. His career is over, if the Rice thing taught us anything, it is that although the NFL can try its  best to protect its stars, the MeToo movement will be all over this, and the NFL doesn't need anything like that..

He's done!~

Too bad, great talent as well.

Hey yall,

Old BBMB member here. Was not going to create an account but this topic is interesting; I decided to join the fray.

There are some things going on in this situation that make it and the discussion surrounding it particularly interesting:

·         It involves a famous NFL player

·         Involves a male and female

·         There is a video recording of the event

·         Everyone has access to view the video and share their opinion

·         Conflation between what is: legal, “right”

·         Heightened emphasis placed on violence involving players and women from the NFL

·         Many more

The first thing I’d like to address is the conflation between what is legal and what is “right”. Many of the posters in this thread, and people in general, argue that a man should not hit a woman. That is NOT A LAW, rather a moral principle some, I’d say most, try to live by.

From a legal standpoint, this is, at best, a case of simple assault. Most people recognize there are varying degrees of assault, and what happens in this case is much closer to the low end of the spectrum than the high.

Leading up to the kick, the woman and the man are both willing participants in what is happening. They are both free to leave at any time; they both participate in the escalation.

The kick at the end is where the simple assault takes place.

My opinion of the kick is that it is exactly what the law is written for, simple assault. Prosecute it if you want, it’s at best a misdemeanor that would likely be settled with a fine.

How do these guys never learn to stay away from negative people and situations? Just ridiculous.

that being said- it’s also pretty dumb that video can blow up a situation that was already dismissed.

If that’s the case, I take it all back.

I was under the impression she put her hands on him first.

But does the video tell the whole story?

Well, from what I’ve read - and there are at least 3 sides to every story - It started in Hunt’s room when the woman refused to “hook up” with Hunt’s friend. Then, Hunt got mad, some sort of “cat fight” ensued between thewoman and Hunt’s girlfriend, and they threw the woman out of the room.

Then the incident in the corridor unfolded.

But the Chiefs have had months to straighten this out - instead, they tried to bury it.

Already been investigated with no charges filed and he didn't precipitate the incident.

So bloody freaking what?

The circumstances don't matter. You don't push a woman, you don't kick a woman, ever.

It was dismissed by police, because they didn’t have evidence that a criminal act occurred. The nfl needs much less to discipline, and have proven that.  but the dumbest thing was him doing this in a hotel where there are cameras everywhere. He had to know there would be a video.

What is there even to investigate? The NFL investigated this whole thing almost a year ago. Now there’s a video. The investigation is over.

I'm going to agree with njbuff on this one. The reason why women think they can abuse men is because of the whole "never hit a woman" rule. They think they're invincible and can go after men because of it.

I'm sure that'll fly when your wife hits you and you give her a black eye.

I'm CERTAIN the cops will understand your tale of woe.

Says the guy that once accused the national anthem of being racist

I'm just chiding you bro; you left it open ;)

I do think that Hunt should face discipline--he went after that girl aggressively; not okay.

How do we get 5 pages into a thread and nobody asks why Hunt and his friends didn't the call the front desk or the police and have the women escorted off the premises?

You can't come OUT of the room and pursue an argument like Hunt did and then initiate the physical confrontation..............and then kick them when they are down.

I don't care what happens..........all involved were being stupid..........but it's pretty clear that Hunt crossed an extra line physically and he most certainly would have beaten her pretty badly and lost his ENTIRE NFL future if not for people holding him back.

It's a very bad look for KC having a dude on your team that was trying to beat a woman down.

Correction - the investigation WAS over, until the video became public.

Now, Goodell’s and the league’s integrity and credibility are on the line, so all of a sudden the investigation is open:

Hunt must be spending too much time with Tyreek Hill who plead guilty to punching and choking his pregnant girlfriend in 2015.

No the dumbest thing was him leaving his room.

You are paying to stay there which entitles you to have someone else remove the people who aren't guests and are disturbing you.

It’s a pretty clear cut case of abuse.  Dollars to donuts he gets 6 games.  The question is this year on their run to the SB. Or first 6 games next year.

shouldn't this be a go to jail thing ? what is happening in this world?

i mean it on video and so ... is fact actually.

ooh..suspend him. that will teach him to act with dignity and respect.....

no it won't. They just get smarter how they cover up these major social digression.
