"36 Y/O Kyle Williams or Jordan Phillips?"

We already covered this. Or Harrison Phillips or Star. Right? They aren’t all playing at the same time. Kyle would be nice to have back in a limited role if he would accept it.

It is well known that the Bills have a heavy DT rotation.

It will sort itself out. At some point, maybe this offseason, these guys are going to decide whether they still want to play or not.  Being an NFL defensive tackle or linebacker is a lot more work than three hours on Sunday afternoon.   My guess is that they'll hang it up before the Bills even have to make the decision.

No one said it would negate brining Phillips back, when Kyle is on the field Harrison, Star or Phillips won’t be on it.

The injury risk is already sky high. Again, A reduced role and salary would be ideal if he doesn’t retire. His knowledge and personality is worth it even if he is only playing 10 snaps

a game. I’m just not sure he would agree to that.

The injury risk for a 36 year old who's in great shape is not sky high.  He may slow down a bit and need a blow here and there but that doesn't mean he's assuredly injury prone.  These two guys are playing well and contributing.  Consigning them to the scrap heap, as a given, is nonsense, let alone common sense.

Lorax I think will come back for 2019 on a one year deal, Lorax hasn't collected on a large contract, in fact the two year deal he is on now is the largest deal he has ever had. So I think because he is having a good year and a one year deal around 5 million would greatly increase his career earnings I think Lorax is back.

However Kyle i am 50/50 on. Kyle had collected on a major contract so money shouldn't be an issue for him. Kyle also has been a starter for 11 seasons compared to Lorax who has only been a full time player for 3. Kyle also has a long injury history.

But if the Bill's finish strong I can see Kyle coming back for one more year esp if his body feels good. Kyle likes the coach and his play ( which had been regressing in recent years) has improved.

Kyle's return will come down to how he feels mentally and physically. Something we can't predict.

I believe Lorax will be the Teppo Numminen of the Bills...at least for next year just signing a one year deal and see where it goes.

And we've already got our Ryan Miller in Tre White!

That's two down, only 21 to go and the Bills can finish 4 points behind the ***** Bruins and just miss the playoffs...

I sincerely hope they both come back.

Strengths become weaknesses fast in the NFL and both have a lot to offer.

Giving roster spots to old players again won't be an aid to apologists who want the Bills to be perceived as a "young team"........they are currently tied for 6th oldest team in the NFL..........but it's folly to worry about getting younger in a league with so few years of team control on first contracts.

Win now and do it with these two if they will come back.

If I was a betting man....

I think Lorax comes back.

I think Kyle retires.

I could honestly see them working together on this.

Lorax-“Kyle, if you come back, I’ll come back”

or or the other way Kyle sayin I’ll come back if Lorax is resigned.

Either way both will more than likely just be role players. Playing 50% of the defensive snaps vs 75-80% they do now.

While watching the game on Sunday with my brother and nephew, I said I’d bring them both back if they still want to play.

I thought both were done but after watching the Jags game I would have no problem giving them 1 more year.

At the end of this year there will be a bunch of open spots on the Bills roster & more than likely a real good possibility of the need for veteran leadership in some areas of the team . There will also be 2 vets that could hang it up them being Kyle & Lorenzo .

I was wondering what Bills fans think should McBean & company bring Kyle & Zo back (or at least offer a contract) next year if they would like to continue to play especially seeing as they are both still contributing at a high level & the Bills have the cap room next year to do so .

Kyle has become my all time favorite Buffalo Bill the last few years seeing as he has chosen to stay in Buffalo when he could have went some where else & didn't & the guy is just the ultimate Buffalo Bill he leaves his guts on the field every game & he is loyal to the Bills & no other & one of the best leaders they have seen in a long time !!

To add to that after seeing his reaction last year when the Bengals won & put the Bills in the play offs for Kyles first time how could you have watched that & not route for that guy ? Just saying !!

Then there is Lorenzo the dud e just keeps brining it every game like Kyle i think it would be a good thing for the team to bring them back so they could possibly experience the play offs one more time for all they have given to the team !!

So What do you all think should they bring them back or not ??

I agree.  Both are still performing at a solid level.

....performance as well as leadership skills......not sure if either/both came back in 2019 ,what they would be looking for as far as dollars......I'd bet Lorax bends but Kyle may not....look at the 2018 salary differential....

....Lorax: $3.6 mil

...Kyle:    $5.5 mil

These 2 guys play like 25 year olds and are the two biggest leaders on the team. BRING EM BACK!!!!!

not going any farther than this. answer is yes. i want to give these guys one more year to finally reap the rewards for their efforts. they are playing great. next off season i can see them replacing trent with a young edge (i had very high hopes for trent) and a head hunting lb.  i know they'll try to find a good corner, but i think if we went into next year with what we have now, we'd be fine.  we can get a db and lb a little later, but a good de i'd take early.

I bet Alexander wants to come back for one more. He hasn't actually had a lot of playing time his career except on special teams. But I'd rather see him as a pass rush specialist rather than as a linebacker.

Kyle Williams is probably done, but his replacement is already on the team (Phillips).

I talked to Sal yesterday, and posited the same issue.  We have so many young players and even more next year.  With free agency and the draft, it would be nice to have veteran leadership, and guys who have not lost a step.  I’m sure they would take reasonable contracts to keep playing.  Besides the sentimental part of me wants to see him see real success in the playoffs next year which I believe will happen.
