Phil The Thrill Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 One thought that went through my mind yesterday: “Wow the Bills special teams have been horrible.” Stephen Hauschka’s been $$$ but every other. aspect of special teams has struggled including punting, kick returns and kick coverage. There were several times this year when the ST’s significantly contributed to a Bills loss. Does anyone think Crossman could be fire. Remember, he’s the last holdover from the Rex Ryan regime. He doesn’t have a connection to McDermott like a lot of other coaches do. I’m wondering if he suffers the same fate as another non-connected coach who struggled last year - Mr. Rick Dennison. 1

Hell, he's a MARRONE holdover. I don't understand how he remains employed. 2
McBean Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 I’ve been wanting this guy gone for years. He’s awful.
BillsFan130 Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 I hope not. Besides Hausch money, their special teams has been a joke this year. And Crossman has absolutely nothing to do with hauschka being good.
Augie Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 He’s like a cockroach, he will survive a nuclear strike, I’m afraid. I have no idea why he’s still around. I suspect he loves having Castillo on the staff to draw some attention away from himself! 2
freddyjj Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 I think the issue is the Punter. Bills have 3 under contract but only the worst one is able to play right now due to injury
ColoradoBills Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Danny gone is OK with me. The one thing I would like is to get the best punt returner available either thru FA, Draft, or get a coach to grow one. With the changes in Kickoffs making them almost irrelevant punting and punt returns can be a game changer.

John from Riverside Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Actually.....the waiver wire pickup from Denver might save his bacon..... All of a sudden we are actually getting decent kickoff returns again
LABILLBACKER Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 (edited) No! Not even House money or McKenzie can save him from his obvious flaws. Too many penalties, missed tackles and players out of position. Crossman, Castillo and Culley have to be upgraded. Edited November 26, 2018 by LABILLBACKER 1

Crossman did not.

Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Perhaps he'll be able to reunite with all the birds when they flock back to Syracuse University. 1

He has struggled since returning to the roster

He had 3 punts with little air time and gave up huge returns - luckily they called a penalty on Jac to negate the one return. A second had offsetting penalties to hold off another good return. He only had 1 fair catch and a touchback. Overall it is easy to see why they tried to replace him. He is way to inconsistent to say he had an excellent game. I've always thought that Special Teams had a lot to do with motivating second string players to want to contribute in a facet of the game where they're probably not all that used to playing. You have to remember that most NFL players were at the top of their 'positions' in College. I've seen very little positive motivational or strategic coaching on the Bills Special Teams this year.
