Dave in Avon Lake now Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Saw something about avoiding politics on Thanksgiving and thought it might be interesting to see if the same holds true for football teams. I have Dolphins fans, a Raiders fan, Browns fans and Patriots fans in my family though I don't remember anything getting too heated. Patriots family were probably most obnoxious, but we moved away from New England last year, so don't see that side of the family now. How about you?
Soda Popinski Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 We're all Bills fans in my house and my family. Never had any issues at the table but we've had some good discussions about who we should draft, who we should get rid of, and which coaches should be fired.
teef Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 i punched my great aunt in the neck once because she had the nerve to speak ill about larry kinnebrew. stupid B word. 3 3 1
LeviF Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 I'm not in the habit of asking the staff at Golden Corral what their football loyalties are. 1 2 1
Steptide Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Nobody in my family are really die hard football fans other than myself. Don't get me wrong, my family watches football, but not like I do on any given Sunday. 1

Not gonna lie.........I didn't expect to see a Larry Kinnebrew reference today. Happy about it. 7 minutes ago, LeviF91 said: I'm not in the habit of asking the staff at Golden Corral what their football loyalties are. I'd rather be hungry than even SEE a G-C with my own eyes..........gross. (To those who work at one of these places, no offense.......gross).
BuffaloBillies Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 I'm going full LORAX on my sister this year in the backyard. I must protect this house! 1
NoHuddleKelly12 Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 I'm the biggest football fan in the family, isn't even close, so most topics of convo don't even include the NFL to begin with--and most years, that's just fine with me . Sometimes that makes it a little difficult to have the Turkey day game on in the background however.
4_kidd_4 Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Turkey, whiskey, couch. That’s how I avoid every conversation on holidays. 1
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 It depends on where the family gathering is. The game may be on but the couches are filled with people napping. Or TV has kids shows on or games.
row_33 Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 it's awful dealing with my Social Credit uncle (also an Eskimos fan) in early October 1

EasternOHBillsFan Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 We are Bills, Browns, Colts and Panthers for my family, so this really doesn't apply to us... no big egos or huge rivalries. It makes it so much easier! I feel sorry for those who have to endure other fans that suck!
