Now dont get me wrong...there is still a have vs have nots when it comes to quarterbacks...but after watching the game last night and the bears game Sunday night its remarkable how easy things look for mahomes goff and trubisky.  Creativity gets them wide open receivers on nearly every play.  Now mahomes and goff are better at finding them than most but I'd argue that is being coached up better than others as well.

Now let's go to teams like Detroit Atlanta, green bay and Seattle.   With upper tier quarterbacks that are struggling.  If that their fault.   Their defense?  Ya maybe a little but I'd argue they have to rely too much on receivers making contested catches.  Galloday is covered all the time...and fights to get the ball.  Russell Wilson has no one to throw to most of the time until he scrambles.   Same with Rodgers.

Throw one of those guys or heck mahomes or goff into this offense and are they MVP candidates.  Hell no.  Throw rodgers on the chiefs and he's breaking records.

A franchise QB is definitely required to win consistently in this league and all the guys above are just that...but not having one can be masked by a great OC...which we do not have.

There are numerous articles, with solid video proof, that Daboll is doing a very good job this year with what he has.

I agree that given the personnel he has to work with, it is difficult to evaluate Daboll's performance.  In comparison, last year it was pretty obvious that Dennison was doing a poor job.  He had a decent offensive line, a veteran QB that was limited but did certain things well and a top flight RB, and he did not adjust the offense to suit their abilities.  HIs predecessor, with similar talent, was much more successful.  There is no track record for any coordinator with the current personnel, and Daboll has had 4 different starting QBs in a half of a season (3 of whom are proven to not be very good and one who is a raw rookie), so just not enough to go on yet.

It's not the OC. It's the Head Coach! Reid, McVay, Naggy... pretty sure they all call their own plays. If we want Allen to succeed we have to get rid of McDermott and bring in an offensive head coach.  Or hope that McDermott does the right thing for the team and the process and demotes himself to DC. I am convinced it is the only way Allen will succeed.

I'd argue it's hard to know what you have in an offensive coordinator with our receivers and what we've done to him at QB.

A offensive head coach would not stand for the personnel we have trotted onto the field on that side of the ball. A defensive minded coach doesn't care and thinks good old ground and pound with ball control can win games consistently. I expect the offensive personnel to get better next year (it literally can't get much worst so that's not saying much) but it won't get to the level it would if we had an offensive head coach.

These high powered offenses will eventually have to pay their QB's elite money. That has a huge trickle effect on the rest of the team, requiring you to let guys walk and ultimately field a much lesser talented team.

There aren't many teams that have dealt with that well in today's NFL. Seattle was great when Wilson was on his rookie deal. Then he got paid and they had to let talent walk. Now they are only an average team and trending downward.

This is kind of where I'm at.  The Bills game against the Jets was a lot different than some of the other recent games.  Yes, they had a different QB, and Barkley's experience was beneficial, but except for KB, the receivers caught balls, and they got separation.  The difference is they added some speed.  I'm not sure what the Bills thought they were getting when they put together the receiving corps they had to start the season, but thnhakfully figured out it wasn't working.  They still need to upgrade in the offseason, but I think we're going to see more offensive variety going forward.

Four QB’s, one slot receiver and no line until half way point.

Why not look at some of the articles about how he has effectively done a lot with the cards he has to play prior to judging?

Incorrect.  Our head coach that was a defensive coordinator prior knew we had cap issues that needed to be addressed - and that in year 3 he'd have almost $92 million to help build the roster with the GM.

We weren't completely broke. We had some cash to spend and they spent it on a DT.

Well there wasn't a free agent WR to sign and they needed a DT.  They signed Star in March and Incognito retired in May - so they were a bit handcuffed in that regard.
