TigerJ Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 (edited) I was just watching NFL Live on ESPN. Post game interviews of the Indianapolis Colts had both players and coach mentioning the process a lot. The Colts have like a 6 game win streak. Obviously, the "Process" is not a guarantee of winning lots of games, especially for a team with lots of young players in critical positions and some talent holes in a few important positions (like the Bills, but the process is not a bad thing. It's just a methodical approach to building a winning team and culture. Edited November 19, 2018 by TigerJ 1

I think the point bang is making is that just because fans have bashed him for it, never meant anyone thought he was the only coach using that term.
Best Player Available Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 I need a drink. Who what of thought that Mcd was using a cliche?
Big Turk Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 (edited) The GM the Baltimore Orioles just hired from the Houston Astros believes in "Trust the Process" too...it transcends sports! Edited November 19, 2018 by matter2003
row_33 Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Sixers kept using it for the last decade as they deliberately tanked away seasons gleefully then went ahead and signed and traded for a contender instantly 1 1

I can buy that. My motive in posting it to begin with is that I think it's a relatively unintelligent way to try and bash the head coach.

Gugny Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 McDermott is a Philly boy. "The Process," found him ... he didn't find "The Process." 1
RalphWilson'sNewWar Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 “The Process” is a beautiful, fail safe, Get Out of Jail Free Card to be played at any time for any situation. It’s brilliant. - You win by 30. “Winning Big is part of the process. - You lose by 30 at home against inferior opponent. “Learning not to be over confident is part of the process.” its all true...but at all time creates a rigged game to deflect any responsibility and just keep moving forward. i think it’s brilliant. 1
Steptide Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 "the process" is a term used by coaches that sums up a team as a whole. It simply means this : "we currently suck and we're in the PROCESS of building a winning team". So everytime you hear "the process" or "trust the process" refer to the meaning I just referred to 1
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Plagiarism is part of the process 1
Warcodered Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 I always thought it was pretty simple. That it was what players/coaches needed to do in order to win games.
Soda Popinski Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Call it whatever you want it's all about getting the 53 men on the roster to buy into what the HC is selling, and that is almost always the same thing. Hard work, attention to detail, sacrifice, a positive attitude, and mental toughness. You sell your locker room on that, and you have a foundation for winning. You get talented players to buy in, you can win 8 games a year. You get a franchise QB, and a talented roster that buys in, you get a dynasty.
