The Jaguars’ head coach during his weekly media availability Wednesday was discussing whether the Jaguars’ run-centric, defensive-oriented philosophy can work in what many observers believe is an NFL that increasingly favors the pass. The trend toward high-powered offenses has been a league-wide topic this week in the wake of the Los Angeles Rams’ 54-51 victory Monday over the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. Marrone said he didn’t watch Monday’s game, but was aware of the result. 26CornerBlitz Posted November 22, 2018 Author Share Posted November 22, 2018 Ranking all 32 teams' quarterback play through Week 11 | NFL Analysis | Pro Football Focus As we close the door on Week 11 in the NFL, it’s time to look at Pro Football Focus’ season grades for all 32 teams’ quarterback play so far this season. The best of the best have likely already punched their tickets to the playoffs, while the signal-callers nearing the middle of the pack and below have work to do in order to get back on track under center. The trouble with the Jaguars’ offense this season has been Blake Bortles‘ inability to make tight window throws. On passes attempted into anything resembling tight coverage this season, Bortles has completed only 37.5 percent of his passes. Only Josh Allen has been worse among starters. It’s obviously not nice to pile on someone when they’re down, but where’s the fun in that? Nathan Peterman’s 31.6 overall grade on 106 dropbacks this season was so bad that Keenan Allen and DeAndre Hopkins graded out higher than him at quarterback. On Allen’s one dropback, he took a sack and on Hopkins’ lone pass, he overthrew Lamar Miller. They’ll be relieved to have Josh Allen back at quarterback. Every week that’s a win, gives us 1 more week of a season. It’s not likely but it’s not completely over. Just find a way to win this week and we have a season for at least 1 more week. 26CornerBlitz Posted November 22, 2018 Author Share Posted November 22, 2018 (edited) Josh Allen Development Camp Opens as Bills Begin Closing Stretch Mike Rodak - ESPN Staff Writer ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Matt Barkley led the Buffalo Bills' offense to its most prolific first half in 19 seasons, but his performance in a Nov. 11 victory over the New York Jets bowed to the franchise's need to develop Josh Allen when coach Sean McDermott decided to start his rookie at quarterback on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Barring further injury, Allen will return from his sprained right elbow to presumably start the remaining six games of the regular season. The playoffs are no longer a realistic possibility for the Bills, who at 3-7 have a 0.3 percent chance to return to the postseason, according to ESPN's Football Power Index. Welcome to the Josh Allen development camp. The stage is set for Allen to take a step forward in the final six weeks of the season, which would inject optimism into the upcoming offseason. The Bills have the NFL's easiest remaining schedule, according to ESPN FPI, and still have four home games to play. Their Dec. 23 trip to New England is their only contest against a team currently with a winning record, and the best defense Buffalo will face after Sunday is the Jets unit they shredded for 41 points before their bye week. Clearly, Allen must greatly improve in order to become a viable long-term starter in the NFL. Here are some particular areas where Allen could benefit during his upcoming development camp: 1.
