Bills: "Man, we are a mess right now, the laughingstock of the league."

Browns: "Hold my beer."

I think you could have used this post many times in the past, and probably will be able to use it many more times in the future.

Kinda makes you long for the days when only ex-actors thought they would make good politicians.  Nowadays, anyone with their 15 minutes of fame thinks they're cross qualified to do anything.

And people believe them too.

Not as crazy as you'd think.  Good head coaching is more about leadership than knowing the x's and o's.  Leave the play calling up to your coordinators.  Would be very interesting if she actually got the job.

This is wrong. There is a reason head coaches watch 100's of hours of film.

It wouldn't surprise me if at some point an executive/leader with no football coaching experience was hired as a head of coaching and in doing so the coaching org chart was slightly different than typical.  Today we have head coaches with coordinators directly reporting which is like EVP's reporting to CEO's.  Many successful orgs have a COO reporting to CEO with the VP's beneath.  A football team could do something similar by hiring a top flight leader as the head of the coaches who might sit between the GM and the week to week head coach.

The league puts limits on the number of players per team and what those players can be paid.  There aren't similar limits on the coaching staff and as competitive as the league is to evaluate and develop players and with the high turnover in head coaches, some team might decide that there are benefits in having more top minds on the job.  Leaders in other disciplines often move to unfamiliar industries and do great things.

Per Adam Schefter

I was about to zap you for spam threads or getting trolled by fake Adam Schefter accounts, but apparently reported by the real dude.

Wow.  Just....Wow.

How Browns-y

Edit: OK, so apparently Schefter got trolled.

I think maybe the Browns have some people within their organization who can't keep their traps shut. So maybe they're spreading weird info to see if they can trace it back to whoever has the loose lips.

HC’s must know the X’s and O’s- if not they will never truly know a poor game plan presented by the coordinators or know how to adjust throughout the game. Name 1 HC in the NFL that didnt climb the ranks through Coordinator then HC?

Well, let's go for the Daily Double.  Somebody send Schefter the picture of 'Peter Pan' that gets posted here regularly, and say that's the next Cleveland HC.  They'll be pulling his press credentials quicker than you can say 'Bucky and Sully'.
