If they interview her, it is purely a PR move. There's no way any team would consider hiring a HC who has no coaching experience at any level.

So they would become the conservative Cleveland Brown-rice.

Yeah...she did such an effective job handling that intel passed along to her by the likes of Richard Clarke and George Tenet about Al Qaeda pre-9/11, focusing instead on missle defense. Terrific job!  Qualifications? She's a woman, African-American,  Ivy League educated- plus she's a fan of the game. I guess that renders her qualified...as it does Michelle Obama

Sooooo....she has defensive experience regarding an aerial attack?

Kinda makes you long for the days when only ex-actors thought they would make good politicians.  Nowadays, anyone with their 15 minutes of fame thinks they're cross qualified to do anything.

Not as crazy as you'd think.  Good head coaching is more about leadership than knowing the x's and o's.  Leave the play calling up to your coordinators.  Would be very interesting if she actually got the job.

Yea, there’s a baseline level of knowledge required but at a large level it can be an administrative job managing coordinators etc...

I'm a fan of Condoleezza Rice but the Browns overall lack of direction is very concerning

Well put!

So you make her head of football operations or some such thing. Head coach is ridiculous.

the most valid counter to my position is “It’s the Browns.”

This is the silliness of the Rooney Rule. Should a team that just fired a black coach have to interview minority candidates to replace him?

Not happening anytime soon, but there may come a time when a team has to forcibly interview a female candidate for an open position.
