Attitudes haven't been the greatest around here and understandable.  Been a frustrating season.  So maybe this story can break it up somewhat.

Was only working part-time several years ago and was looking for full time work.  Had an interview set up with this building's executive director.  So went on the interview and for the first few minutes of it were the standard generic questions, Why do you want to work here? What can you bring to the table? etc...

I noticed he had a Bengals helmet in his office.  So he talked a little about his professional career than I told him I was a Bills fan.  All of a sudden we hit it off.  Oh geez he told me you guys are on the same boat as us!  Then we talked about the Stevie Johnson game in Cincinnati the year before with The Why So Serious shirt.  Then it came up that Fitz was on his fantasy team.  Then we even argued a little what team it was tougher to be a fan of.  Ultimately the interview broke up but he pated me on the back and said well be in touch buddy.  So an hour later at home I got the called I was hired.

For better or worse been with the company since.

...violent police stop involving six deputies with guns drawn....thrown across the hood of the car.....pleaded insanity telling them I was a Bills fan.....took me to breakfast, followed by hugs of empathy and sent me on my way.......

Back in the day I knocked a guy out in Virginia for following and harassing me. Several cops pulled up, so I was escorted into a cop car. The officer said to me “wow you have one helluva punch, where are you from?”. I said I was from Buffalo, he says “ hey I’m from Rochester, how about them Bills”. We talked and laugh for a bit, reports came back our stories matched, so I was free to go. The Bills went on to lose to Dallas, the last time the Bills sniffed the SB.

If you consider being numb handy in life then sure, the Bills certainly helped me along.

I worked in a restaurant in the 70's that closed off a section of the restaurant on Monday eve. to serve the Bills exclusively, no wives or girlfriends.

Usually around 15- 25 would show up. Few waitresses wanted to work it because some players would be crude and obnoxious.

I was a barboy/busboy, but served/waited occasionally. Asked me if I would work it. I did, took the abuse, always got at least $100 in tips for 2-3 hours work.

You could have as easily been fitted with the white jacket with the excessively long sleeves...

In early 90s, me and some friends went to watch Bills in Indy. We decided to go to St Elmo's for dinner. Useless to say the line wrapped around the door. Just so happened that we arrived the same time as some Bills players. They saw some of our apparel and thought we were with them. We went through the VIP line with them. Once inside people bought us wine and told us to take it easy on their team. We should have won Oscars

I got a hooked up chicken parm sub at the county fair here in central FL on Wednesday for wearing my Bills hat...A younger guy asked what I wanted and after I answered, an older guy behind him said "anything for a Bills fan", to which I replied "how about a title". He followed with "how about a quarterback".

The guy brought up the fact that he used to work annual fairs in Fredonia, and how Jimbo and the gang would frequent there. Not sure if/how true, but he knew enough as a non-Bills fan to seem credible. (I assume there is or was a fair there during training camp).

Anyhow, in relation to the thread title, a hooked up chicken parm is about as good as it gets....

I am in the financial industry, and when I meet a new client where I live, I break the ice by telling them I am a Bill's fan, they usually get a good laugh at that so I suppose that helps me!
