So wait.  I was philosophying all those years and didn't know it.  Damn.

It's like squares and rectangles.  All exclusively degree dependent philosophers are daytime drunks, but not all daytime drunks are exclusively degree dependent philosophers.

Also, PM.

This makes so much sense. Ossie is a scarier situation than I realized.

Pretty much how I feel about Mitt Romney’s Presidential runs.

Come to think of it, I've never met one that is a paid philosopher and I've met a shitload of people in my lifetime.

the ones i met were philo profs and that has nothing to do with what we call philosophy

We are all to "blame" for billionaires.  We bought their products and use their services.  If they had only given us all those iPhones for free.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to pass sweeping tax hikes on the wealthy, but the freshman lawmaker might want to take care of her own unpaid tax bill first.

Brook Avenue Press, a company she founded in 2012 to publish children’s books in The Bronx, owes the state $1,870.36 in corporate taxes, public records show.

“This is the first we’re hearing of it, and we won’t have any additional comment until we look into it,” Ocasio-Cortez’s spokesman, Corbin Trent, said Saturday.

Brook Avenue Press was set up to “develop and identify stories and literature in urban areas like New York, specifically communities like The Bronx,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a YouTube video posted in October 2011, months before she filed incorporation papers for the company in July 2012.

Ocasio-Cortez was featured on the city’s website for the incubator, and The National Hispanic Institute named her a social entrepreneur in residence.

“You see a huge return on your investment here,” a 22-year-old Ocasio-Cortez told a reporter in July 2012. “People pay $500 an hour for consulting that we get for free by the water cooler.”

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) asks Wells Fargo CEO Timothy Sloan: "Hypothetically, if there was a leak from the Dakota Access pipeline, why shouldn't Wells Fargo pay for the clean up of it?" Sloan: "Because we don't operate the pipeline, we provide financing"

It's amazing that she just reads a script. And I know this was posted before but it's worth watching if you haven't seen it. Essentially, as @Buffalo_Gal and others have pointed out, AOC won an open casting call (by the Young Turks/Justice Democrats).

Later, Ocasio-Cortez asked Wells Fargo CEO Timothy Sloan: "Why was your bank involved in a giant boys band scheme that attempted to convince the people of River City, Iowa that simply giving children an instrument and studying the "think system," that the band would be the envy of all Iowa?"

Sloan: "I'm sorry. What?"

AOC: Did you not collude with Professor Harold Hill by transporting said instruments via a giant Wells Fargo Wagon that was a comin' down the street, causing all the townfolks to sing out "Oh, please let it be for me?"

Sloan: "I'm sorry. WHAT are you talking about?"

AOC: Next question. Either you are closing your eyes to a situation you do not wish to acknowledge, or you are not aware of the CALIBER OF DISASTER indicated by the presence of a POOL TABLE in your community!

Sloan: Check, please.

This is why I don't do Congressional testimony (well, besides not being important enough to have anything useful to testify about, but I digress.) I'd just look at her and ask her, 'What the ***** are you talking about? Does the dingbat who wrote your questions for you even understand basic English, much less the concept of banking?'

Give us her list of qualifications please.

I guess maybe some acting experience?? She actually auditioned among others to run before she won her spot. She's just a mouthpiece. All the policies are fed her to regurgitate. Apparently, she wasn't even in the room when her green bill was put slapped together over a weekend.
