sherpa Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Absolutely the right call. Kyle Guy was hit in the hip, and his dead on three came up short as the result. Stupid foul, but the right call. Rockin in Charltottesville tonight. WAHOO-WA

They eventually even showed it in slo-mo and commented on it. The possession should have gone to Auburn before UVA ever took a shot. Auburn was screwed almost as bad as the Saints in the playoffs. A true “how did they miss that???” Moment! 2

They clearly blew the double dribble. Still, fouling on a three when down by two cost them the game, and it was clearly a foul. I like Auburn and they played well, but they lost. Can't wait until Monday, but what a great tournament. Virginia, who has not played anywhere near what they did in the ACC regular season is in. Can't ask for more. Mayhem at my house.

Definitely a double dribble on Ty Jerome. He lost his dribble, ball hit is shoe, he turned around, picked it up, and dribbled again. By rule, a double dribble. Auburn should have got the ball back with 5.4 seconds. The foul on Guy would have never happened. https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1114683741979336709?s=20 . If he hits the second half of his one and one, the best Guy could do is send it to overtime. I give the Tigers credit from coming all the way back from 10 down with five to go. Helluvan effort. 1 1

Such a great group of kids and such a great coach. Everything done right. Just the best of college sports teams. Win or lose, what we all hope sports can be. 2

Augie Posted April 7, 2019 Author Posted April 7, 2019 I’m not a gambling man, but I’d wager the next game won’t be as close, exciting and with the same level of controversy as the last. I’m just hoping for a decent game. 1 minute ago, sherpa said: It will be insane here on Monday. Such a great group of kids and such a great coach. Everything done right. There has been a lot of talk about UVA, but what is never mentioned is that they almost always win the second half, and never give up a second half lead. They generally struggle in the first half and strangle the other team in the second half. Major kudos to Auburn.

Augie Posted April 7, 2019 Author Posted April 7, 2019 OK, Mich St/TT is a snooze fest. Let’s declare the first one to 25 the winner.......only 20 seconds left in the first half and they’ve scored a COMBINED 44 points.

It’d be cool if UB could say they lost to the eventual NCAA Champs. . 2

It did indeed improve! Still low scoring overall, but much more fun to watch. I’ve missed more than usual of the tourney this year due to crazy conflicts, but what I’ve seen has been awesome, as always! March Madness is gold!
Augie Posted April 7, 2019 Author Posted April 7, 2019 We were one missed double dribble call away from seeing Texas Tech vs Auburn in the NCAA Final. How weird is THAT? 1

Great tourney, lots of surprises (Duke, Gonzaga, NC, et al). Sure screwed up lots of folks brackets! . 5 minutes ago, Augie said: We were one missed double dribble call away from seeing Texas Tech vs Auburn in the NCAA Final. How weird is THAT? Auburn over UVA would’ve been another great upset! Don’t know how the official missed that double dribble, and no one from Auburn called ‘em out. . Edited April 7, 2019 by The Senator
eball Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Two awesome games tonight. I hope the tall skinny kid for TT can play Monday night.

No loss, it’s usually shattered in the first 48 hours! We were in Asheville, NC for fun the first weekend, then I joined my wife who was working in NYC the next. That was all wonderful, but I missed 90% of the greatest tournament on earth. Soon I’ll focus on the Masters. Had the pleasure of attending a couple years ago, and now I more fully appreciate the grandeur of that part of the planet. WOW! TV does not convey the crazy topography.
Bing Bong Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Michigan State looked bad. I got Virginia winning the ship for sure.
