He isnt the 3rd stringer, he was the starter this season.

I cant believe the love shown here to a scrub QB who has shown on multiple occasions he isnt an NFL QB. Yet he needs more chances, or cant be evaluated because of the rest of his team.

He is currently the third string qb. The reason why he was the starter when the season began was that the qb that this organization brought in to be the starter was beaten out by him. The GM has admitted he made a mistake in delaying bringing in Anderson. When he finally got here he was not ready to play right away. It was a management mistake that Peterman, who at best is a backup qb, was in position to start.

The notion that I have a love for Peterman's game is off-the wall stupidity. He is a fifth round backup and never will be anything beyond that. The reason why he was in a position to start was because the organization didn't handle the qb situation very well. They would be the first to acknowledge that.

As far as I am concerned it doesn't matter whether the qb discussions are about Peterman, McCarron, Anderson or even Tyrod. Those are wasteful and inconsequential issues that have little influence toward the success of the team. The substantive issue revolves around the development of Josh Allen. The ridiculously hotly discussion about the other qbs is simply a distraction. In other words it is mostly unadulterated bullshiiiit.

Peterman played like hot garbage.  Open your eyeballs.  The guy is one of the worst, if not the worst QBs to take the field.

For what's it's worth I have seen worse performances by a guy named the same.

There is a ton of truth in this statement that I has witnessed several times on those long drinking nights.

He played like a backup...as soon as the opposition gets a decent lead and the ball has to be put in his hands, that's all she wrote. Particularly with no recievers and a disastrous o line

He is right.

1) Bears have top 5 defense.

2) Peterman has only started 4 games.

3) His stats were in line with a long time veteran like Anderson in his two games.

4) His line and receivers did not show up.

5) There was no running game.

Is Peterman an NFL starting QB. No. Is he a more than adequate backup. Absolutely.

EJ was the only QB I can remember recently marching down the field like a boss to win a game with a TD in the last two minutes, at Carolina.

On that drive he threw a pass directly to a Carolina DB who dropped the ball despite it being an easy catch.  That tends to get forgotten in the aftermath, but drops are a part of the game.

EJ even hit on the long ball once in a while.  He did some nice things.  Horrible QB on balance.

Bills fans have been served rotten garbage for an entire generation under the label "dinner."

It's gotten to the point where a lot of them don't remember what a well cooked meal tastes like.

And who can blame them!

Im more down on the coaches...   Asking Peterman to throw 49 times? Crazy!!!

When they played Green Bay they had Allen drop back 39 times to 16 hand offs.

Not to mention the WRs are not all that great.

Not to make excuses but the coaching needs help.

That is hilarious.......  3 yard dumps all game.....  63% completion %....

Here's a stat.....  Peterman completed two passes beyong the first down chains all game.  One was an 11 yard pass and the other a 6 yard pass.  All other first downs were YAC.

Just pathetic........

pathetic on the part of what exactly?...playcalling?  no sep. by the wrs? no one running deeper patterns? no time to let plays develop( and hopefully someone comes open)?

or is it just that nate didn't see anyone downfield? ....and missed a lot of opportunties?  kubiak was 100% right. as a matter of fact and not to derail the topic....

someone is going to have to go this year, even if it's not till after the season.  there has to be some public display of accountability by the staff and here's what should happen....

fire castillo, culley and robiskie and that right there starts to put things right.

I think you keep rolling out Peterman until Allen is ready. Let Anderson do what he was brought in to do which is mentor Allen. This season is lost and if there is any consideration in regards to keep Peterman on the roster remainder of the year or next season he needs to play.

this is 100% common sense and why this hasn't been made a public declaration by now is flat out stupidity.  anderson doesn't want to be out there getting whatever rep. he had dragged through the mud...let alone his body.  let nate start against the jets and see if he can build upon the bears game.  this will also clearly demonstrate dabol's ability.

doesn't matter who plays qb, if they try to force sidestep shady , get stuffed and get behind, the jets won't have to do anything but rush. no way would i bring allen back before the bye.

Shady is winded for the day after a few carries

When your only completing 3-5 yards per pass, you have to throw it a ton to move the ball.

Brees can throw 20 times a game, but when he is throwing 72 yard TDs, you dont need to have many attempts

Peterman is not the reason we lost the game.  I saw some encouraging signs.  He looked comfortable in the pocket, went through his reads, threw only 1 real INT.  The comments are interesting.  "He checked down and didn't challenge the defense" is popular, but Peterman didn't throw INT's.  True, he only had 4 YPA, but I'll cut the guy some slack.  He finally had a game that wasn't a total cluster *****, so maybe he can become a serviceable backup.  Maybe.  I don't think so, but it will be interesting to find out.

aside from the visit to the Pats the last half of the season isn't that big a challenge, will give him time to try and settle into the role

When the team doesn't respect the QB, they can stack the line, making running difficult and then know all the passes will be within 5 yards of the Los.

At least Anderson threw it down field.

As for the above and Peterman making the reads, he thus had time and still threw only short passes.

most of this throws were 3 yd passes to his right.....the bar is very low

This was the biggest problem. Dabol had little to work with and did the best he could with Peterman's limited arsenal.
