McDermott is Dick Jauron 2.0.

His philosophy on how to win football games has zero similarities with any of the top coaches in the NFL.

We need to get rid of this guy asap.

I genuinely think they thought this team would be better than they were last year with "his guys" and the result is the worst offense the NFL has seen in at least 20 years.

You can't field such an abysmal offense in 2018 and keep your job. You just can't.

How many times did Jauron get blown out?

Most (if not all) of the NFL analysts and commentators told us the team would do poorly this year, but McBeane's decisions and management certainly made things worse than anticipated.  There is no process where this kind of a season would be acceptable.  There is tremendous pressure in the NFL, competitive and financial, to have success.  I don't think the Pegulas signed-up for this level of ineptitude, particularly since they understand that the stadium issue will need to be addressed in the near-term.

The Bills will need some real expertise and experience in the front office to try to turn this around relative quickly.  I hope they make some additions to the front office in preparation for this offseason.

So can someone that defends McD please tell me the point of. Down 28-0. (4 scores)

Bills have the ball 4th and 6 on the Bears 23 yard line what the Point is Kicking a FG there to go down by you guessed it 4 scores??

Please Defend that Spineless decision.

It was a coward move.

In my opinion him and Nate have been paying attention to what the media/fans have been saying.

McDermott: Wanted to get the goose egg off because it doesn't look "as bad".

Peterman: Did not want to throw the hail mary at the end of the first half because he didn't want to throw another INT.

I have absolutely no evidence to support what I am saying, but what I am saying seems very realistic.

Both were coward moves either way.

This is just wrong.

McDermott has added:

QB: Josh Allen, Nate Peterman, Derek Anderson

RB: Chris Ivory, Marcus Murphy

FB: Chris DiMarco

LT: Dion Dawkins

LG: Vlad Ducasse

C; Russ Bodine

RT: Jordan Mills (the re signed him)

WR: Kelvin Benjamin (traded a 3rd), Zay Jones (traded up for him), Andre Holmes

TE: Croom, Thomas

THIS IS THEIR OFFENSE.

THESE ARE ALL THEIR GUYS!!!!!

Let's put it this way.  I was bummed out when they released Rod Streater and Nick O'Leary.  Ugh.

Listen to his outdated offensive philosophy that he repeats often and you'll be further mortified.

It's not even like some are playing chess and others checkers.

Sean McVay & Andy Reid are playing chess and we've got that annoying ball in a cup thing.

Bills fans prior to the season were predicting 10 wins and another playoff appearance.

Those same fans are now saying this season was always going to be lost and the results shouldn’t surprise anyone.

This is so true as to many on this board.

Perhaps a bit of hyperbole . . . but your overall point is right on.

That is the nice thing about invoking (but never defining) what the process is.  One can always look back and claim it is just part of the process.

for sure, i trust they are no longer around here

Yup. It’s apparent McCrusty isn’t the right person to lead this team. He is too weak mentally to handle the pressure.

Pegs needs to to make a chang before we are set back another 5 years.

We may already be set back with the moves they have made . . . .

Not really because they haven't done anything on the offense (Sans Allen) more than one year bandaids.

Trading a 3rd round pick for Benjamin and trading up for Zay Jones in the 2nd round were bandaides?

Just wait until The Jets blow this team out.

Darnold went toe to toe with the Bills QB play, and it looks like Bowles’ HC job is going the way of the Dodo bird...if nothing else our stout D may be scoring this week to keep things more than respectable

We gave up a ton of assets to draft Josh . . . a very, very raw QB . . . and we have no idea whether he is the QB of the future.

So yes, this is just one example of how this team may be set back . . . not to mention if we have a rinse and repeat with the coach and GM.

Most coordinators fail as Head Coaches. We've seen McD is skilled at putting together a top defensive unit, but he has no clue how to run an offense or special teams. This is not unusual and is common place in the NFL.

I am pretty sure that aside from Bodine and Dawkins the entire Oline predated McDermott.  I just don't think you can be taken seriously when you says the offense is "hand picked."  It strikes me more as an offense he has only started to work on.

And Nate Peterman played really well in the preseason.  It wasn't a race to the bottom.  He honestly won the job by playing well.  His regular season play has been farrrr from what he did in the preseason.

This is a narritve that is getting really old.

He played against an opposing teams "1s" once all preseason. The other 2 he played he was going against guys that are right now selling houses, scrambling for practice squad work or sitting by a quiet phone waiting. Great he looked awesome against Johnny the Century 21 Agent. Let Nate go dominate his towns under 30 flag football leage then.

The whole "compitition" was set up for a green as grass rookie to sink or swim. And if he (as should have been expected) faltered the plan was to jog the worst starting QB of the modern era out and feed fans the word process. But hey let's just compound that by not signing anyone esle and keeping Nate 1 hit away from the field.

You know, I'm not even mad at Peterman. The guy is living his dream job, making decent money doing it.

I still cannot believe that we traded up for Zay.

While I would like McD to get another year...simply because I'm sick of constant firings and rebuilds that go no where...I understand the deep frustration and the fact that the Bill are now a joke.

So question...

What coaches are out there that you guys would like the Bill's to hire if McD gets fired anytime in the future?

And this isnt a...well you say fire him give me your solution...I'm honestly curious who is out there and who you guys like.

Here’s the new rule of thumb when it comes to Bills HCs. If during their introductory press conference they preach about being able to run and stop the run because of the Buffalo elements then you know they are going to have an outdated approach to offense.

As I've said time and time again, these guys cannot evaluate offensive talent.

Lincoln Riley, Eric Bienemy or Josh McDaniels would be nice upgrades.

I still think it was a great idea at the time. I also think Zay is much better than people give him credit for (maybe not worth the trade up in hindsight)

I don't want McDaniels within a 400 mile radius of the stadium

I've stood behind the man.  He's a solid D coordinator.  But I don't feel like he will be the guy to bring an innovative, good offense here.  I don't think he will be the guy to develop Josh Allen in any way.  I don't think he will be the guy who knows how to find an offensive coordinator who will elevate the entire staff and quality of play on that side of the ball.

Something struck me when McD was doing his coaches show before the New England game.   They were asking him about Belicheck and all his success.  McD made the point that Belicheck hung in there (with his vision?) and got it right the 2nd time around.  I assumed he meant his second head coaching stop.  I just left that point thinking yup, this is McD's first stop and it will surely end in failure and his faith will lead him to believe he will get it right in his second stop.

I do feel they should stick with Beane.  He's a smart guy, and he knows what went wrong here.  I'm fairly confident he will properly handle the upcoming draft and going after free agents.

I heard the pregame too. Didn't think of it that way. But, I would slightly shift your thought on this.

Could this be what McD is already thinking? That he failed already on his first stop, looking forward to his second?

That would be a huuuge problem I think. You could make the argument that Bellicheck in Cleveland wasn't a BB issue, but a Cleveland Browns issue.
