I've stood behind the man.  He's a solid D coordinator.  But I don't feel like he will be the guy to bring an innovative, good offense here.  I don't think he will be the guy to develop Josh Allen in any way.  I don't think he will be the guy who knows how to find an offensive coordinator who will elevate the entire staff and quality of play on that side of the ball.

Something struck me when McD was doing his coaches show before the New England game.   They were asking him about Belicheck and all his success.  McD made the point that Belicheck hung in there (with his vision?) and got it right the 2nd time around.  I assumed he meant his second head coaching stop.  I just left that point thinking yup, this is McD's first stop and it will surely end in failure and his faith will lead him to believe he will get it right in his second stop.

I do feel they should stick with Beane.  He's a smart guy, and he knows what went wrong here.  I'm fairly confident he will properly handle the upcoming draft and going after free agents.

I don't think I've ever been as pessimistic about a coach as I am with McD.  I've come to hate the word "process"... its a lame catch-all excuse for not having anything questioned that's obvious to all observers.

I, too, feel less-confident in McDermott's HC abilities.  His coaching staff is horrible.  He offers nothing with regard to the development of a young offense.  I've been trying to be patient with my assessment, but it appears that he loses this team more and more each week.

Many believe that he is the one in charge; and not Beane.  If true, if one stays, it'll be McDermott.

I haven't completely given up on The Mad Clapper.  Trying to remain as realistic as possible, he probably deserves next year.

The Bills have been exactly what everyone thought they would be going into the year.  If it crashes and burns next year then sure, you should lose faith.  But right now, this year, if you expected anything different then you just weren't paying attention before the start of the year.

9 games in 1.5 seasons getting blown out by 19+ points.  That’s alarmingly bad.

This is his downfall, in my opinion.  Something is seriously wrong with the coaching staff's game planning and preparation when blowouts happens so consistently.

For all of those who say that this should be "expected" given the amount of dead cap space, my response is that even the 0-16 teams of the last few seasons were not consistently blown out like this.

If you're out on McDermott now you should of been out on him weeks ago.  Nothing has changed other than a bunch more injuries.

they tried to tank last season and put Peterman in, but he was so horrible they had to go back to Tyrod and then fluked the flukiest fluke in fluking history to "make the playoffs"

Just wait until The Jets blow this team out.

if the Jets want to tank this game it could be quite hilarious

McDermott is Dick Jauron 2.0.

His philosophy on how to win football games has zero similarities with any of the top coaches in the NFL.

We need to get rid of this guy asap.

I genuinely think they thought this team would be better than they were last year with "his guys" and the result is the worst offense the NFL has seen in at least 20 years.

You can't field such an abysmal offense in 2018 and keep your job. You just can't.

Fair.  But fan opinion is pretty skewed.  Look at national and local media opinion.

Here's the thing, McDermott and the whole organization went all in a QB, a QB that is not playing right now.  When they get him back, play him for the rest of the year and next, and are still that bad, then I will be all in on firing him.  Until then, its just a team trying to set up to build for the future.  They were always going to be bad (fan opinion aside).

I don't buy this.

This is McDermott's OL, these are his hand picked WRs, his RBs, and his QBs.

This is the offense he assembled, and it's HORRIBLE.

Nate Peterman "WON" the QB battle this summer, and he's clearly not an NFL player.

Nothing they've done suggests they're even remotely capable of evaluating offensive talent.
