They certainly did and they'll have to own it.

The issue is the midset of Buffalo from ownership down of Blue Collar must build a run first defense team because the “weather”.

It's an outdated mindset in today's NFL.  Even the 90's Bills' K-Gun offense refutes it as nonsense.

True But that is the mindset here.

Wo your cleaning house.  Who starts for you at QB, and is there a dead cap hit for cutting Benjamin??

How many other dead cap hits do they currently have?  They need to do something to shake up this mess - start cutting the worthless heads.  Does it matter who starts at QB?  It doesn't get worse than Peterman.

Yes you need talent but you also need someone who can game plan and build a scheme around the "talent" you have.  Do you really think he is a good coordinator?  It all starts with coaching.

Not game planning for the talent you have is exactly what dennison did and is exactly what daboll is doing!  Well said!

1 ...daboll gone..... go get the Seahawks old coordinator if he is still out there.  Obviously just work on developing Allen.

2. ...put peterman on the practice  squad or just let him go. Poor guy just doesn't have it.

3..... find some OL help we need it in the worst way

4.... then wr help!  Every single wr should catch at least 200 balls a day. Use the machine and have them catch all different balls....then reps w the QBs.  BACK TO BASICS.   3 n 4 wont come till offseason most likely.

5.... trade our most likely top 3 pick back to the 10-15 range ... ONLY IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT. no it doesn't help now but we have some many holes we need players.

Seems to me the players have to fit a certain mold to play here.... maybe that could change a bit to!

I think I will wait until I see what they do in the off-season. I have neither bought into what they are doing or the idea of firing anyone at this point. They are 1.5 years into a rebuild. They chose to get rid of some talented players and large contracts and eat all the dead cap space in 2018, lost several key players they did not intend on losing, and used a lot of their draft capital on what they believe will be the future cornerstone pieces of the offense and defense. All of which left them with little ability to improve a roster, particularly on the offensive line and receiver positions, with players that are more than one year quick fixes.

IMHO, they were very fortunate to be a playoff team last year (and that was after getting rid of  most of the players) and their plan all along was to try to stay as competitive as possible this year without sacrificing their ability to begin building around Allen next year and adding more pieces to the defense. You can agree or not agree with any of those choices; however, those are the choices they made and that they will sink or swim with.

I have no problem with the owners allowing them this upcoming off-season and next year to follow through and show a marked improvement in this team.

There is nothing that can be done to right this ship until the offseason.  We are going to be 3-13 and probably pick 4th in the draft behind Oakland/NYG/AZ

We need to use our draft picks and salary cap to get the oline fixed and get some better wrs in.  we need a better backup QB who is capable of starting in the event Allen cannot go.   We need another #2 CB, we need a LB, and we need rotational DE/DTs.

But first and foremost the offense must be addressed.

I see a lot of negativity (and rightfully so) but how would you fix the O? This is what I would do..

this year:

1. Bench Peterman he just isn’t that good.

2. Max protect on every pass play give the QB (Barkley) as much time as possible to find a receiver.

3. Enficize ball security!! It is better to punt and trust your top 10 D to stop them than to give the other team a short field.

4. More screen passes

this wont fix it this year but will make the games competitive

1. Why is a Patriots fan here? Not welcome.

2. Put McCoy into the slot, and get Murphy on the field more. This team is devoid of speed.

3. Stop running out of shotgun or trying to "get the edge" on sweeps. The Bills lose yards every time they try that play.

4. Instead of #3, start using the bubble screen to Zay Jones or McCloud.

5. Put Croom out as a WR, put Benjamin in the slot.

6. Actually try a drag route or cross.

Now, all of these ideas outside of #1 revolve around passing, so our Coach is scared of that and none of these will be done because it isn't physical line of scrimmage establishing.

Not sure that there's any helping this offense at this point in the season. But if I were to try I would have to start with the running game.

This OL is bad. They're feeling the loss of Wood, Richie and Glenn. I know Cordy wasn't available much the past 2 seasons, but when he was in, he was good.

Give #45 more carries.  I think Murphy's straight ahead running style may be more effective than Shady's stick and move style and put you in better spots in 2nd and 3rd down.

More quick hits to Ray Ray. The kid has a pretty quick first step and can make nice cuts. More plays like in the 4th Q in the Vikings game. Could also be a good way to get to 2nd or 3rd and manageable.

More jet sweeps/fake jet sweeps. I don't mean like the reverse to Zay yesterday where he picked up 1 or 2 yards. I'm talking about when the receiver comes in motion and the QB just pivots and hands him the ball. Again, someone shifty like Ray Ray or Murphy would be the best choice. Or just throw some eye candy to the defense. Any kind of misdirection to help this OL.

Figure out how to run the ball.  If the line truly is this bad - then it really won't matter what plays you call.

As for passing - once allen is back.  Call the game as though he's good and see what he does.  He needs to see the field better.  If he's not going to be the guy, then i want his failure to set us up to draft the next one.

2020 may be a good draft for QBs - and if he sucks we'll be in position to get one right?

9 or 10 new starters, however they can be acquired

A new QB coach with an impressive track record

A new OL coach

A new Offensive Coordinator

They can't.  Dawkins is ok, rest of the line is bad.  Mills has been bad for several years an he's still our starter.  Interior of the line does not communicate well in pass blocking and no push in the run game.  Receivers are slow and can't catch.  Clay is always hurt and frankly he's avg at best anyways.

Best we can hope for is Allen plays rest of the way and McDermott quits dreaming he is going to win one pt games and tells Daboll to go the full 60 minutes as if they are 2 tds down and pushing the football See if Allen can turn it loose and grow some confidence.

All this mess wont get fixed next year.

I would punt on first down or throw the Hail Mary every play.  Statistically they couldn't do  much worse.

How do you not fire Terry Robiskie & bench Benjamin?  These would be my first moves.

The WR coach isn't the reason the wide receivers can't get open.

I think the punt on first down idea is better.  Peterman didn't know enough to throw the Hail Mary on the last play of the first half.

This year isn’t possible.  Sign leveon bell, tyrell Williams, Daryl williams right tackle. Nkeal Harry first round, center second round. Guard third.

It's early now so things can change but so far I like what I've researched about N'Keal Harry.
