Maybe I'm an idiot (o.k., fire away), but I'm actually looking forward to the post-bye season to see what Allen can do with Pryor, more involvement from Logan Thomas in the passing game (as we saw last week), and yes, even Kelvin Benjamin as he (presumably) musters all his willpower to make a push toward free agency in the offseason.

Just play Peterman.  There's no point playing Allen Sunday with the bye coming up. Somewhat surprised Anderson's protocol is taking so long. Probably wishes he was back on his couch.

7 Things to Watch in Bills-Jets this Weekend

c4urhsei5qnxsesczq7x.png

Both the Bills and the Jets head into the bye after their game on Sunday.

Buffalo has lost four in a row; the Jets have lost three straight. So, recovery and relief are the goal for both AFC East rivals.

Here are some of the issues to keep an eye on as the game approaches:

1. SIMILARITIES BETWEEN BILLS AND JETS
2. MORE STRONG PLAY FOR THE BUFFALO DEFENSE?
3. HUGHES LEADING THE WAY
4. HOW TO GET THE OFFENSE GOING?
5. YOUTH MAY BE SERVED
6. TAKEAWAYS
7. LONG TIME PASS RUSH SPECIALIST LIKES QB PROTECTION

I think Allen will be active as the backup to Peterman. If the game gets out of hand, Allen can get some game reps in the 2nd half in a blowout.

Allen should either start or be inactive.  Anything else makes no sense to me.

Or how about they don't play Allen AT ALL if he is STILL limited 48 hours out.

I rather have Allen play in a blowout to get some reps in to slow get back from the injury and there no pressure in that scenario. Having him inactive is fine too. Rushing him back for a mealiness game before the bye week makes no sense to me. I rather start him post bye week when he has a full week of practice.

If he doesn't start, it means he's not physically ready.

Maybe, I’m just going off what McDermott said this morning. The fact he seemed hopeful that Allen might play tells they believe he’s close to ready to go. He basically also is finally given up on Peterman as well. We will see Sunday, I still think it’s Peterman but I wouldn’t shock me if Allen is active as well.

Because "limited" could very well just be a title.

How often has Brady been listed as "limited" in practice? You really think he's losing a lotta practice reps on those days?

No doubt he wants Allen to start, but only if he's ready to roll with from a health perspective.  He's finally done with Peterman as he should have been long ago.  From my vantage point if Allen's not ready to start, then it's best to make him inactive as they head into the bye week.

Live real nfl game reps for Allen mean absolutely everything for this season, next season and the franchise.

Its all that matters.

That’s fair and that’s how I feel too, guess I wanted a compromising way to this current situation. Shame Anderson isn’t healthy enough to go still.

Quick Hits: No Decision Yet at QB for Sunday for Bills

o7hbdxmieouxinrqxhdc.png

We don’t yet know who the starting quarterback will be for the Bills when they face the Jets at MetLife Stadium Sunday, but we do know one person it won’t be. Derek Anderson was ruled out for Sunday’s game by head coach Sean McDermott on Friday morning, but there hasn’t been a final decision on a starter this week.

“We’ll still working through that one day at a time,” said McDermott. “Josh is progressing well. Obviously, it’s his first week back at practice. My main priority was and remains his health as we move forward here.”

Josh Allen is working his way back from a throwing elbow injury that has kept him out of the last three games. He will be limited again in practice Friday.

Edmunds still in concussion protocol
A possible move at tight end?
