I expect Barkley to get cut if Anderson is ready & especially if Allen starts to throw by the end of the week.  Barkley was only brought here as a body to have a backup QB.

Since he doesn't know the offense & neither will be here next year, yes, Barkley goes before Peterman.  Your question is sort of like: Which should I take out of the refrigerator & throw out 1st, the rotten eggs or the spoiled milk?  Does it really matter?

It's not so much that it's a bad idea or even unlikely.

 

It's that it's actually come to the point where saying "Matt Barkley should start next week" is a perfectly reasonable statement.
