BuffaloHokie13 Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 I think you have Allen and Peterman flipped. Allen has started 5 games, Peterman has started 3 and may start his 4th on Sunday. Also, while we're at it, the team when each starts: TT: 8-6 JA: 2-3 NP: 1-2 DA: 0-2 1
JoshAllenHasBigHands Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 You really do set yourself up for dissappointment if you think this team was in a win-now mode. It never was. That is why they got rid of Tyrod. This was about pushing through and developing Allen.

And to add to the point, in 24 regular season games under McD, here are the game counts by yardage for the high passer: 300+ yds: 0 250-299 yds: 3 (Taylor-2, Anderson-1) 200-249 yds: 6 (Taylor-5, Allen-1) 100-199 yds: 9 (Taylor-6, Allen-2, Anderson-1) <100 yds: 6 (Taylor-1, Peterman-2, Allen-3) Are you kidding me?! 21 sub 250 yd games and 6 under 100. ???

Well he did have that amazing pedigree and track record to hang tour hat on knowing he very well will one day become a franchise QB. It's not like his scouting report had him as being a 'Backup QB' at best. The Browns probably wouldn't have draft Mayfield this year if the Bill's would have only let them have Peterman instead of Taylor....

I'm not sure how this position could be more mismanaged or get any worse than it is right now. This cannot reflect well on McDermott at all. It's wearisome listening to all the negativity on this site. It used to be a great place for meaningful dialog but it's sadly turning into a place where people overreact and make overly critical statements but never a solution. So I would really appreciate hearing specifically what would you have done differently this season considering our cap situation.
Dr.Sack Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 (edited) 9-7 + 2-6 = 11-13 not counting playoffs. Offense has gotten worse, not better. Mainly attributed to bottom of the league futility at the QB position. Edited October 31, 2018 by Dr.Sack

Well not putting yourself into this poor cap situation might be the first thing. Keeping some talent around and build off of it instead of dumping everyone and having to bring in your own guys. What is there to be positive about if your not drinking the Koolaid that "everything will be alright, the process will right the ship!"? Its negative around here because there very little to actually be positive about with this team right now and things are getting worse and not better. 3
twist_to_open Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 McCarron, Allen and Edward's all got hurt after less 3 full games.......I don't know.....maybe upgrade the O line?....nah!!!!

MJS Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 44 minutes ago, sullim4 said: Worse than Peterman? Peterman's track record in regular season games was abysmal. I think you had to keep McCarron until Peterman proved that he could go a quarter without throwing an interception. In hindsight, yes. But Peterman appeared to be better than McCarron in the preseason. 11 minutes ago, CuddyDark said: Play Tyrod until someone was better. So far no one is better than Tyrod. I can see that, although getting a 3rd for Tyrod was pretty good value, especially since he went to the Browns and sucked bad enough to get benched.
