Jordan Phillips exudes energy and is a flat out beast on the DL, and we need this passion on our defense. We were so fortunate to be able to acquire him on waivers, and now we need to extend him to keep him in Buffalo for longer. Clearly he is reenergized and he gets to play against the Dolphins twice a year, which is a huge plus to him. Dareus was a headache who lacked passion and drive, but Phillips has both in bushels. Remember ol' Ted Washington? Sam Adams? It so reminds me of those guys... haven't seen it on the DL in a long time.

Whats the contract? You are thinking. Gonna be about 8M a year. And I worry about giving a sizable contract to a player that has a motor that runs hot and cold.

Once in a while, you get lucky. Bills got lucky in acquiring Phillips. Now they need to get down to business and sign him long term.

really depends on how much money he wants.   He runs hot and cold, depending on his level of interest in the game.   He's playing lights out right now for his next contract.  If we can get him at a rotational DT price then yes, if he wants big money, I'd rather go with a draft pick in the rotation.
