The only thing it might do is buy some pass protection time?  But laterals all happen so quickly, that no DB was gonna get tricked.

The Superbowl Bills ran this same play for a bomb to Beebe one year.  They had some weapons. /sarcasm

Yep, against Denver. Went for a TD.

Robert Foster would have taken that one to the house!  Did you know he was a 5* high school recruit?

NASA has already snatched him up off the PS. I knew that would happen.

I had noticed this too. As I played that game religiously growing up. Perhaps they realized Anderson might have to and they designed a Playbook to be like Tecmo Super Bowl in order to make it easier to digest.

However they would have been much better at doing the Hail Mary and having Anderson back all the way up to his own End Zone and throw clear all the way to the other end zone when you almost always get a touchdown. I used to beat my brother's ass doing this. That and Shane Conlan up the middle every time for a sack

A better thrown ball (or a faster receiver), and that would have been a TD

I agree, it was set up good, but why did they design that play to be thrown to Clay and not a WR?

The offense had a really creative script for the first couple of drives...

I thought I was watching a poor man's Chiefs offense.

Yeah, if either of the first two drives resulted in a score the rest of the game may have gone quite differently.
