26CornerBlitz Posted November 1, 2018 Author Posted November 1, 2018 Tips for Week 9 NFL picks: Seattle's 12-0 trend, why Bills could cover, teaser of the week and more Bears (-10) at Bills Home-field advantage: 2 points Power rating line: Bears -9 Lookahead line: n/a CHI BUF Record vs. spread 4-3 3-5 Yards per play differential 0.4 -1.1 Points per drive offense rank 11 32 Points per drive defense rank 4 21 Total DVOA 19.6 -40.3 Pass offense DVOA rank 14 32 Pass defense DVOA rank 5 4 Run offense DVOA rank 5 29 Run defense DVOA rank 3 12 The value might be on the Bills here, especially when you consider the double-digit home 'dog trend we talked about at the top, but good luck getting anyone to bet them with Nathan Peterman under center. The Bills' 32nd rank in points per drive and passing DVOA undersells the state of their offense; the Bills are nearly twice as bad as the 31st-ranked passing DVOA, and they're averaging a mere 0.91 points per offensive drive. That includes a stretch where they've scored just 37 points in a five-week span; three teams reached that point total in Week 8 alone. The Bears haven't exactly been road warriors this year, letting a one-legged Aaron Rodgers rally to beat them in Week 1, eeking out a win over the woeful Cardinals offense in Week 3 and losing in overtime to Brock Osweiler coming out of their bye in Week 6. But again, this is the Bills we're talking about. The total is a disgustingly-low 37.5 points, and I want to play the Under anyway. At the very least, taking Under 13.5 or 14 on the Bills team total seems like a sure thing.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 1, 2018 Author Posted November 1, 2018 (edited) For the third time in four weeks, the Buffalo Bills will have a different starting quarterback, and in Week Nine against Chicago, it's none other than the embattled Nathan Peterman. Can fans expect the same, or is Peterman going to play like he's got nothing to lose? Joe Buscaglia and Matthew Fairburn discuss Peterman, the new wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, and how the Bills match up with the Bears -- along with predictions. In this episode, Sal Maiorana and Leo Roth delve into more quarterback drama for the Bills as they are forced to turn back to Nathan Peterman for their game against the Bears. There's a lot to digest, so enjoy. Edited November 1, 2018 by 26CornerBlitz

I actually don’t think he’s that bad. The second either Allen or Anderson can go I’m cutting Peterman Barkley is deplorable...there are reasons these guys are available and haven't played in the league in the past year. Barkley has started 11 games in his career since entering the league and has nearly played for as many teams. He's been traded for a 7th round pick, was beaten out for a job by CJ Beathard, and is an INT or two away from Peterman's ratio in twice as many games played. We have not, and will not sign our veteran back-up, or any serviceable back-up this year. Better to put your hopes in next season and the process in all honesty, not in the abandoned animals we're signing.

26CornerBlitz Posted November 2, 2018 Author Posted November 2, 2018 By Elliot Harrison NFL.com Analyst SUNDAY, NOV. 4 Chicago Bears 17, Buffalo Bills 14 1 p.m. ET (FOX) | New Era Field (Orchard Park, N.Y.) Want to take the Bills in a home upset. The issue here is that, unlike the Titans team Buffalo bested a few weeks ago, Chicago does have at least a morsel of a passing game. Another thing weighing on your gallant prognosticator? Something known as the Nate Peterman Complex. A rather new phenomenon, which requires forsaking your sensical approach to picking games because you want a much-maligned player to do well, and you happen to love the Buffalo Bills, or something like that. I love Joe Cribbs, Don Beebe and Aaron Schobel as much as the next guy -- heck, more than the next guy -- but ... Bears win. That defense will be too much for Buffalo. Anticipating a knuckleball of a contest, with less-than-stellar quarterback play.
