Plenty of players test fast, but don't play fast and sometimes it's just the opposite.  What happens on the field in actual competition is all that matters.

That is just something people say...It's not real.

And I am not just talking about 40 times.  The jumps in particular are fairly indicative of a player's explosive ability.

It's very real when you're facing other players and I know exactly what you're talking about because your referenced combine drills that take place in shorts.  Who cares?

I remember last year someone arguing that Jordan Matthews was a deep threat based on his forty time. It's how fast, quick, and explosive on the field in games that matters.

 He has two more years after this season with the Bills on his rookie deal.

Ok - so he has had 1 good game this year, and has improved from last year. I wouldn't be surprised if he has one more good game this year.

Next year he will be serviceable, lets say 8 good games.

And his final year will be his best. Then.. BAM! Off to free agency.

Here's to hoping I'm wrong, but I could see his career trajectory being similar to that of Robert Woods. Decent  in Buffalo, star in LA.

He’s a solid 2 and a good 3.  Still terrible to trade up for him instead of taking JuJu or Kupp at our original draft spot.  But good for him for not looking like a complete bust.

Sounds like a classic case of BBFS.

 Nope.  It's Battered Buffalo Fan Syndrome.

This is so legit.  I used to be the biggest homer ever and would be depressed and angry when they lost.  The last decade just worn me out.  I just expect the most painful loss ever and when they don’t do that, it’s a pleasant surprise.

Zay Jones is starting to play ball, making catches. For all the drops last year, and his off-season stuff, I give the kid credit for turning it around. May not be a # 1 (or even a #2) but looks like he could be a productive #3 and a future piece of a winning puzzle.

I wonder if it has anything to do with getting rid of his college WR coach.

He's done very well.  I mocked the hell out of him posting pics of him with frying pans, armadillos, and bricks for hands.  Kid has rebounded.  Nice job Zay.

How can you say that?

Is it impossible Zay could not have the same kind of impact and stats as JuJu or Kupp if he was in Pittsburgh or LA? Better stats?

I’m not saying he’s as good, better or worse than those two.. However the situations on those teams is quite different.

And two years in Zay hasn’t exactly peaked or reached his possible potential. Judging the trade up this fast is a little premature.

Grading a draft pick on one of the worst passing offenses in the league vs 2 picks from some of the best passing teams in the league seems a little unfair.

FLEX OFFENSE

Zay JonesBuffalo Bills – 90.9 overall grade
Can you say Zay Jones breakout game? Jones caught eight passes for 93 yards and two scores in the win over the Jets, and the crazy thing is his performance would have been even better if not for a fumble on the edge of the end zone, which the Bills eventually recovered for a touchdown. Jones struggled with drops as a rookie, dropping five of 34 catchable passes, but so far in 2018, he has yet to drop any of the 37 catchable targets thrown his way.

It appears Dropzone has reached terra firma.   Hopefully those yips don't ever return.

There should be a crow thread for Zay just like there is for Shaq. The guy caught more passes in a season than anyone in the history of the NCAA and the board mob declares after 1 year that Zay can not catch a football anymore. He still has room to grow but I like the trend.
