I agree and while some Giants fans are going to whine about not getting more, the salary left on his contract plays a role in return value. Also, while he's one of the best in the league in Run D, that's about where his limit lies. But, for a team that has Offensive players, this makes sense.
Coach Tuesday Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 One of the most underrated players in the league.
Captain Murica Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Big contract, but worth it. Good for the lions.
BigBuff423 Posted October 24, 2018 Author Posted October 24, 2018 One little plug for the Lions on this board: Matt Patricia is from Sherrill, NY located just West of Utica / Rome in Central New York. Until they play the Bills, I hope the guy is successful for many years to come. Great to see a local boy make good. 2
YodaMan79 Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Great pick-up for the Lions, former All-Pro. Should show a bunch of people on here what the value of draft picks is compaired to players.

I remember thinking when he signed with NYG that $9M/year was absurd for a run-stopping DT, but his ability to push the pocket against the pass has gotten better, and he's justified every bit of that deal. 2
jahbonas Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 The Bills should be buyers too given their 10 draft picks and extra cap room next year. Not a buyer for a 1 or2 year player but a guy like this at 29 yrs old will play at least 5 more years - only costs a 5th and we have cap to absorb it. I hope we checked into this and should be looking and taking advantage of other salary cap like dumps. 1

BuffaloBillies Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Would also like to see the Bills do SOMETHING. Not sure if they should be buyers or sellers. But the status quo is mired in goop. If for nothing else, excite the fan base a little and show they are trying. I know we're supposed to be patient, but the tank is on E right now.

Starting to wonder about Beane in this way - when coaches or GMs get their former players its usually a great sign since they are most aware of all they are getting - like when Wade pushed for Ted Washingtom when he first got here. Beane has signed Kelvin Benjamin and Star off of Carolina....neither is performing above expectation...we shoulda had a good book on both of them
