Then there a second “tier” of guys that we meet every few months to have a dinner. Usually 5-10 guys. A lot stay in connection for business reasons. Now that I have a son that I’m going to force to go there, I’ve started donating money. As did I. Took my friend about 15 years to forgive his dad for sending him there ?

I couldn’t stand my high school at the time. My tone mellowed out a lot over time but don’t think I’d ever send my son (if I have one) there
ExiledInIllinois Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Oh: Seneca backwards is: "ACENES" First YearBook had Printer Error. They kept the tradition... West Seneca: School to Wilson Greatbatch https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilson_Greatbatch
Guffalo Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 I went to my 10 year reuinion from St Joes years ago, it was kinda boring. I have skipped the rest, just missed the 40th this summer. Since I don't live in the area, I rarely get a chance to run into anyone. I did attend a St. Joes NYC gathering about 3 years ago where they were giving updates on the current school and asking for donations. I guess I just don't miss the people I knew back then.

I have no kids so it has to go somewhere. I have an alternate suggestion if you are desperate for ideas on where to direct those funds! ? Actually, this sounds a bit like me. I went to St Joes but lived out in Williamsville, so I had two sets of friends. (Hard to believe, I know!) I still hear from the neighborhood friends on rare occasions (in fact got a text last week), but lost all the St Joes guys that I was never THAT close to anyway. I did go to a football game there when I was back for the home opener, but that’s about it as far as current ties. I still attend when they do the traveling road show soliciting donations, and if there’s anything left when I die they’ll be included. Hopefully they’ll have to wait a long time for that...... My parents left WNY about the time I left for college, so I guess that’s to be expected.

It’s really one extreme or the other when it comes to schools like that, and I certainly understand both sides.

It was hard to get close to many kids in HS until I had my own wheels, but by then I had a girlfriend, so.... But yeah, I’m in the yearbook next to your gang!
