Saints intend to keep Haslett for long haul

By now the Saints had hoped to have a contract extension finalized for coach Jim Haslett, who has two years remaining on his current deal. Both sides are exchanging proposals, but the goal is to extend Haslett through the 2008 season or beyond.

seeing that he has produced so well, why not sign him to a 5 year extension.

I wonder if he will still have an out clause if the Bills offer him a job?

don't be so quick to judge. haslett *has* done a good job given the three ring circus that is the management of that team and the used car salesman owner that employs him.

The Saints won't be in New Orleans very long. It's not Haslett's fault, the majority of Saints fans are fairweather, so they never sell out the Dome.

Also Our old Governor Mike Foster was trying very hard to keep the Saints here even though Tom Benson is impossible to worth with, unfortunately his term was up and the new governor is Kathleen Blanco, a woman who could give a rats ass about any of the sports teams here. She's not even making an attempt to keep the Saints.
