At work or id dig for the answer Yeah, but Gruden will draft 2 Division III 'trick shot' QBs, a popcorn vendor, and a guy who sanitizes the draught beer taps.

He had a decent enough tenure with Del Rio, Carr wasn't the problem with the Raiders. Now Gruden is dismantling what was a good team a few years ago. A lot believe that team overachieved and Carr isn't nearly as good as people thought he was. Let's remember, he only had the one good season. He has been average to below average since then.

Do you really think the Cowboys are going to find a better prospect in the middle of the first? They might, but it's unlikely. He's currently rated the 65th best WR in the league by PFF and that's better than he was last year. To put that in perspective, Kelvin Benjamin is only 12 spots behind him. His grade of a 64.8 is currently below 16 first round picks (and presumably a bunch more picks that came outside of the 1st round). It's an upgrade for Dallas for sure, but yes, I think teams fully expect that they can draft better players than him.
Big Turk Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Of course the Bills have no interest...they are gonna find 3 receivers, a TE and 3 OL all in the draft/FA next year even though the FA class at WR is near non existent.
78thealltimegreat Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Pretty Obvious why Dallas did this 1. Cowboys where taking receiver very high in 2019 and didn’t value Harris or Brown as much as Cooper age isn’t an issue since Cooper is 24 2.Cowboys like the Bills are in great shape cap wise and can fillin holes like getting Earl Thomas on the cheap now for their huge hole at free safety 3. Before they give 20 million to Dak Prescott they are making sure he had no excuses

I trust PFF's judgement. The point I'm making is that teams can expect whatever they like, but there are like 3 number 1 receivers without question marks. I wouldn't be upset with Cooper had the Bills drafted him at 15. Cooper is immensely talented, and just 24 years old. It wasn't an awful move by the Cowboys. This is not a Doug Jolley situation.
BillsFan4 Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 I would have loved Amari Cooper, but there’s no way in the world I trade the Bills 1st rounder this year. I dont see how how anyone can actually be mad at Beane for not doing this... The only way I am trading the Bills 1st round pick this year is if it’s to trade down to pick up an extra 1st +. 1
DCOrange Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 1 minute ago, Real McCoy said: He did. It will take 3 more to equal the Mack attack blunder I honestly don't think he necessarily lost that trade either. Two first round picks, a 3rd round pick, a 6th round pick, and roughly $24 million in cap space is a lot to get back for one player, especially one that isn't a quarterback. This draft class is loaded with pass rushers if Oakland elects to go that route too. I think people have overreacted to that trade big time personally. Obviously it's a pretty big loss in the short-term, but I think the Raiders have shown that they weren't going anywhere this season anyways and if they play their cards right with all the assets they got in return, they should be able to retool pretty quickly.

Following Brees' injury he put up back to back 4,400 yard seasons (something Carr has never done, even pre-injury) when Brees hurt his shoulder people were saying he was done, that is what was said, it's not what happened, but it is the reason Miami passed on him. That's what I am talking about. And in context, you seem to be implying Carr is having a lingering injury that is affecting his play. Well the lack of weapons and oline is not helping.

With QB being the one position more than any other that directly contributes to a coach’s success (or eventual firing), no coach is taking on a guy they don’t think they can win with. Coaches with leverage at hiring never keep a QB if it’s not their guy/a guy they believe they can work with. It would almost certainly be a question during the hiring process so ownership should have known. Same here, if McBeane flames out, expect the new coaching staff to immediately move on from Allen. That’s just how it goes.

Not fixing the defense and not giving your QB weapons on offense isn't a recipe for success. The Rams just keep acquiring weapons, and it shows on offense, they are unstoppable. But they also invested in their Oline and their defense. Whitworth, Suh, Donald, Kupp, Brandon Cooks. That team is stacked with talent. Just now, eanyills said: Why? That’s just how it goes. Did Dan Quinn move on from Matt Ryan when he took over in Atlanta? That's not how if goes when you have a QB who has shown he can play in the NFL you rarely if ever let him go. Unless you're the vikings and think that Cousins is going to get you over the top, and then take a step backwards.
