Why? If Gruden doesn't think Carr is the long-term starter and someone like Jacksonville is willing to give you like two first round picks for him, why not? That'd give you four first round picks this year and three next year. You could completely rebuild a team with that many first round picks in two years.

If Carr isn't the long term answer, it's because Gruden sucks, not Carr.  He had a decent enough tenure with Del Rio, Carr wasn't the problem with the Raiders.  Now Gruden is dismantling what was a good team a few years ago.

He hasn't really been the same since his injury.

I wouldn’t want him to trade what looks like a top 5 pick for Cooper.

Yeah but with Cooper, maybe that ends up only being a top 6 pick instead.

They said that about Drew Brees too and he ended up being ok.    They have neglected the oline just as much as we have, no other weapons than Cooper, who's gone now, a defense that no one felt like fixing.

They were close to building something but decided to tear it all down instead of getting some weapons in there for Carr and fixing the defense.   All too familiar sounding.

Amari Cooper was drafted number 4 just a few years ago. He's proven he can play in this league.

Do you really think the Cowboys are going to find a better prospect in the middle of the first? They might, but it's unlikely.

Jon Gruden.....Making sure they get the #1 overall pick in the draft.

Then he can fight with his scouts over who to pick. The $100 Million Man will get his guy, I’m sure. I hope it’s a Mike Williams style bust. Maybe he’ll re-draft Maybin since he gave away his HOF pass rusher?

Josh Allen for Derek Carr?  Bills get the big contract, Raiders get the big arm.

Maybe.  Allen has the feel of a giant tease with the big arm but who may never put it all together

Gruden is rebuilding the Raiders just like McCoach...tear the roster completely down by trading all or most of your assets, obtain a bunch of draft picks, and make sure this rebuild takes at least 3 full seasons.

It's a bold strategy Cotton...

I'm really not sure what you're talking about. Since Carr's injury he has been visibly worse. Following Brees' injury he put up back to back 4,400 yard seasons (something Carr has never done, even pre-injury)
