Happy Days Lois & Clark
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-n...ov=ap&type=lgns ROMEO'S APPROACH Romeo Crennel knows what he's facing as Cleveland's new head coach. ``We're starting from a pretty low point,'' Crennel acknowledged. ``When you only win four games, you know you have to add talent. We have a few solid players there, but we have to upgrade.'' Crennel and Phil Savage, the new general manager, have begun by subtraction, dumping two failed high draft choices. Defensive end Courtney Brown, the No. 1 overall pick in 2000, was released after being plagued by injury throughout his career. Defensive tackle Gerard Warren, third overall the next year, was traded to Denver for a fourth-round pick. In fact, the Browns are turning over the team so much they decided to do away with their annual scrimmage sessions with Buffalo. ``We have too much to teach in a short period of time,'' Crennel said. ``When you play another team, even in a scrimmage, you have to spend some of that time getting ready for them.'' BillsGuyInMalta
Its hard to get a decent scrimmage going against a team that held you to 17 total yards of offense. Hopefully this means we'll get a better team to watch the Bills scrimmage against...
UConn James
Not necessarily a bad development. Shouldn't let a team get too familiar w/ your personnel and schemes. Tends to stagnate after a few seasons. Hopefully this means we'll get a better team to watch the Bills scrimmage against... 283944[/snapback] Lions? Iggles? It would be a team that's relatively close geographically. I think it's possible to rule out the Jets, Pats, Giants b/c of history, Stillers... does anyone need to be told why not? Could also just spend the time in regular practice / intrasquad scrimmage.
aussiew
Well we'd better get someone to scrimmage against. I'm not going to fly all the way up there for training camp just to watch #27 showing off his beautiful abs.....OK maybe I will.
Josh
I know it isn't happening...but I would sure love a scrimmage against Dallas...
Tux of Borg
I wonder if Pittsburgh would be willing to lend us their 3rd string that weekend.

Corp000085
the article that i read said that the browns cancelled it. Could this be some animosity towards the bills because of the kelly holcomb situation? IIRC, holcomb refused to sign with the browns for $x to be the penciled in starter, but he willingly signed >$x to be a backup for the bills. The Browns are still pissed we picked Tom Cousineau in 1979.
