Another dude said that McDermott should have run the ball on the final drive and played for overtime with 2:00 minutes left.  Sal said “what are you supposed to do in overtime then?”

Actually, this might not be a terrible idea.

If the game went into overtime, the Bills could just defer and kick the ball to the Texans.

Then hope for a quick turnover to put them into field goal range.

Considering how the rest of the game went, I have more confidence in this scenario than Nathan Peterman driving the offense down the field.

The 31 other teams argument is so dumb.

31 other teams didn't want Kurt Warner either.  32 teams passed on Tommy 5 times.

Are we trying to win, or avoid controversy? I vote for winning.  Let the  chips fall where they may.

Sounds like you want Kaepernick.

I'll answer this one for Sal. In overtime you slate a run-heavy attack that doesn't require you to put the entire game on Peterman's ability to run a 2-minute offense with no timeouts. Taking a knee 3 times and punting is a better option than asking Peterman to throw the ball with 1:34 left.

I disagree.... I think a lot of this is hindsight based on what happened.  how many of us would be livid if a team ran down the clock for OT?  It would be pathetic.  I think you need to have enough confidence to throw with your QB, even if he is a backup.

Also Peterman led one very good drive that resulted in the only TD of the game.  There really wasn’t a reason for not calling passing plays as he looked decent before the INT.

Now, you can fault McDermott for his poor evaluation of Peterman or for being comfortable with Peterman as QB2.  But I don’t think you fault him for calling passing plays there

I'll post on here now and then while I am on a conference call, and do peruse the site regularly.  I can never understand:

1) How someone has the time to call a radio show in the middle of the day, and what they hope to get out of it

2) Why anyone thinks their opinion on the team is valuable to have others listen to

Its entertainment.  Same way you will vent, sound off, or brag about NFL with friend or co-workers.  People also want to get their voice out there to be heard.

Feed Shady and eat clock.  It's not that complicated.

They weren’t really dominating in the run game.  What happens when it’s 3rd-and-7?  Do you just take a knee?

Sorry but playing for OT with 2:00 and timeouts in a weak move

I do fault McD for this big time.  At the same time I also fault them for passing there.  Feed Shady.  I hate to play for OT too, but if you got a guy that's thrown 3 picks in his last 2 games and has DBs licking their chops for a side line throw (they watch film too) why do it?

I would not have been mad if we handed it to Shady 3 times and punted.  Our D was on fire.  If it did get to OT, maybe we get another TO down at their end of the field.  Maybe run the Philly shuffle to get a first down?  Throw to middle of field where he is more efficient? At least it wouldn't be a pick 6.  Put Shady and Ivory in the backfield.

there are a lot of things you can do there besides letting a historically bad QB throw his worst pass.

There was 1:34 left and no timeouts with a backup QB under center. Sometimes a weak move is the correct move, and in this case it was.

As we saw we were playing a weak hand.  Maybe Shady busts one?  He's done it before, ie Tampa Bay and Indy last year.

Why let a historically bad QB throw his worst pass?  Dumb.  And I called for a hand off to Shady BEFORE the play so it's not second guessing for me.  When you're D is playing like ours was , I take my chances stopping them over for 1:30 with no time outs over Nasty Nate not throwing a pick. I've seen this before (several times).

Sal Cappacio is acting more and more "I'm smarter than you" than genuine nice guy local sports radio talk show host.

Guilty as charged.

I wanted us to draft him.

Reddog,Americans are very itchy, feely these days and you know it would be a "tough sell" for the Beane Counter to get the fan base to warm up to "kappy".Damn...if he wasn't wanted out in the liberated state of California...do you think the Yankee -Necks here in WNY would want him? I highly, highly doubt Beane would be willing to take that chance this early in his career.

The best part was when Sal called out the guy who was saying the Pegula's should take survey's of former QB's and that Peterman has a pinched nerve on how he was mispronouncing the Pegula's name lol

Why don't you apply for his job since you seem to think you know more than he does?

If you win, they will come.

I just want to win.  I'm a veteran.  No offense taken to any of this non sense.  Veterans served for our freedom.  Like freedom to kneel during the National Anthem at a football game if you want for example.  Not have everyone fall in line and do the same thing because they're supposed to do so as not to offend some non hackers.

If things continue like this there won't be any fans at the game to care anyway.

I couldn't care less what California does or doesn't want.  I just want the Bills to win football games.

If you like comedy and the Bills, you’ll love Sal’s Extra Point Show.

Sal doesn’t have guests - only callers.  Man are the results hilarious, including:

3 fans that called in to say that the Bills should sign Colin Kaepernick.  Sal said something like “he brings a distraction and the Bills and 31 NFL teams don’t want that.”

One guy who said McDermott trusts Peterman more than Allen as a passer and used the final drives against Tennessee vs Houston as evidence.

Another dude said that McDermott should have run the ball on the final drive and played for overtime with 2:00 minutes left.  Sal said “what are you supposed to do in overtime then?”

The last caller said Terry Pegula should survey all defensive backs and ask if they fear playing Nathan Peterman and make a decision about the results.  Sal said, “that is a terrible idea”. LOL

If you thought some of the posts in here were legendary, this show might have them beat.  Poor Sal, he was doing a good job trying to be cordial but by the end of the show he got a little short and testy.

Man. First TBD, now the air waves as well??

They get that way because after having to deal with some of the most insane & stupid calls and after a few years they know they're smarter than most callers, because the smart ones don't kill their whole afternoon waiting on the phone line so they can state an opinion.

I remember years ago I used to listen to a now dead political talk show host who would constantly say things like "I can't take it anymore, I've got to get out of here."
