SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Chiefs LB: Feared flag so let Brady go on TD Breeland Speaks says he let Tom Brady out of his grasp Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Breeland Speaks admitted he was worried about being called for a roughing the passer penalty on Tom Brady when he appeared to let the quarterback out of his grasp on a key play late in the fourth quarter Sunday. Brady gave the Patriots the lead with a rare touchdown run with 5:25 remaining when he escaped a would-be sack by Speaks on third down and scored on a 4-yard scramble.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted October 15, 2018 Author Posted October 15, 2018 I saw first hand Jerry Hughes let go of a sure sack because he didn't wait for the whistle to let Mariotta go.
leonbus23 Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Even if he got the sack, the refs already had the Pats* back on that play. Would have been 1st and goal from the 2. Still though he needs to make the tackle, regardless. 1
FLFan Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 On that clip, it does not look as though he had that much of a grasp on him actually. Sounds like more of an excuse for missing the play. He is probably embarrassed. Hughes definitely had Mariotta in the grasp and let him go.

Lol that was a mugging by the Chiefs they had call it.. but your right he has make the tackle no matter the excuse.
SoCal Deek Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 He is full or crap. Or...he isn't all that sharp. There's no way the refs were even close to calling him for a penalty on that play.
Boatdrinks Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 (edited) Looked to me as if he had one hand inside of Brady’s leg and the other on his waist. Probably would have gotten called for “ body slamming” Brady on that one. Definitely would have lifted his leg off the ground. Edited October 15, 2018 by Boatdrinks

There's no way the refs were even close to calling him for a penalty on that play. Just as they weren’t close to calling a penalty on Hughes vs TEN. The player in question let go instead of finishing the play, as doing so would likely have drawn the flag. It’s pretty clear in both instances that the player simply let the QB go.

Zero Pats* penalties. One called was offsetting. So, no jersey tugs the entire game by any Pats* player. Sure. 1

JoPar_v2 Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 I brought this up in the live game thread - I believe the guy. It sure looks like he simply let him go.

Last season Chiefs were called for 15 penalties and beat the Pats* because of a super human offensive performance. Pats* only called for one ref subjective penalty in that game.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted October 15, 2018 Author Posted October 15, 2018 He refs need to blow the whistle faster then in situations where a player has the QB in a bear hug
