Big Turk Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 (edited) Baltimore D was savage today against Tennessee...a week after Mariotta looked bad against us, he looked worse against Baltimore...10 completions, 11 sacks, 0 points. At home no less. I dont know what has caused him to regress so badly the last two years but he is becoming a marginal at best starter in the NFL now... Edited October 15, 2018 by matter2003
Bangarang Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 If he keeps playing this bad, he might find himself being sought after by the Bills. 2

JoPar_v2 Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Been pretty bad for a while now. Tennessee goes cheap on coaching though. Probably has something to do with it.
fridge Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Maybe they shouldn't have fired a head coach after a playoff win... 1

He is in that Tannehill class. Good enough to waste years on, but not good enough to win anything. 3

Last season plus first 6 games this year he has 15 TDs against 19 INTs. That is a pretty terrible turnaround. Same number of INTs, 30 fewer TD passes.

Those numbers the first two years are way better than I expected.
DallasMac Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 He looked pretty decent early on. Better than I expected. I think the injuries have gotten to him over the years. Just can't seem to stay healthy. Wears you down mentally.

I would add Bortles into that same group, and maybe Winston, too. They are just good enough that their teams can not afford to let them walk, but they always come up short in actual games.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 While we’re on the topic of grossly overrated qbs, how about Deshaun Watson? Looking like his shooting star is coming down to earth a bit.
The Process Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Out of the gate strong...... flash in the pan. I'll take slow progress with a high ceiling.....go JOSH!

Looking like his shooting star is coming down to earth a bit. Watson will be fine. He sucked yesterday in the 2nd half but the Texans offensive line makes the Bills line look all worldy. He still made some nice throws yesterday - but ultimately the Bills hassled and rattled him and forced him into mistakes because they got there so often. On Mariota - he is playing hurt at the moment. The plan was to sit him then the backup got hurt and he is back in. His confidence has really dipped the last 12 months. His first two years he had the best redzone numbers in the entire league..... but a combination of low confidence, poor receivers, a stalled running game and a succession of injuries have really worn him down. 29 minutes ago, ALF said: The need for quality OL men is getting scary. Yep. The standard of OL around the league is frankly atrocious. The number of teams that don't have a need on the offensive line can be counted in single digits. Edited October 15, 2018 by GunnerBill

TonyBeets Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Let's develop our QB by hiring a defensive minded Head Coach...... Mariota is a good QB, but much like us has nothing but quality defensive coaches surrounding him.
