I was wondering why he didn't go with Creepy Joe and instead went Sleepy Joe. Now he's combined them, so it can be an and/or!

Does that mean that Biden is bringing more to the table than Bernie? Biden is Sleepy AND Creepy. Bernie is just Crazy. Two for one!! Have Bernie as the VP and you hit the trifecta.

Our president name calls like a 4 year old. What a thing to celebrate. Grow up Trump.

True. But did you see Mayor Pete's response when asked about it?

“I’ll be honest. I had to Google that,” he said. “I guess it’s just a generational thing. I didn’t get the reference. It’s kind of funny, I guess. But he’s also the president of the United States and I’m surprised he’s not spending more time trying to salvage this China deal.”

Nice.  Maybe Mayor Pete can take care of himself.

He doesn't take Trump's bait.  I've read and watched enough of him to conclude he's the best shot as his policy positions are moderate compared to most of the democratic field. He's the anti Trump in many ways as he's young, articulate, a Rhodes scholar, a war veteran, and laid back.  He'll pick up Biden voters AS LONG AS HE DOESN"T MOVE FURTHER LEFT once Biden starts to inevitably stumble in the debates.  It will be difficult for the right to cast Buttigieg as a socialist like they did Obama when almost everybody else running is to the left of him in the primaries.  If I was advising him I'd lay off the Mike Pence attacks and focus on policy.

Is part of his Mayoral Duties to grandstand for a possible Presidential campaign?

I’m sure his city has 500 things for him to do instead of blathering on TV for hours every day

There is no way an openly gay man is going to win the presidency. Like it or not, a "first husband" isn't in our cards.

He could keep his stark religious views to himself as well

I disagree.  It is zero big deal.  He's a commie so there is that, but his sexuality shouldn't be an impediment and I doubt it will be.

Making a strawman out of Pence to start his campaign was a mistake.

My comments did not address whether or not his gayness was a big deal. I simply stated that an openly gay man couldn't win the presidency. The republicans would harvest just about every single vote that stands against homosexuality. It was just a dozen years ago that Obama and the Clintons were speaking out against gay marriage. There's a large percentage of voters such as blacks and Hispanics, let alone religious objections from Christians and Muslims who might otherwise vote for a dem who would not cast their vote for a gay man.

Getting the black community to vote for a gay man? Ummmm Why do you think Cory Booker is still "closeted"? The Hispanic community also has large swaths where being gay is no bueno.  They ain't votin' for "openly gay" Pete Buttigieg, no matter how many people in this thread would like to think otherwise.

Now would Pete Buttigieg have a chance in say, 2032? Possibly. People do change and evolve, and 12/13 years from now, assuming he wins either a Senate seat or the Governorship in the meantime, he may be a contender. He'll only be 50, so still very young by Presidential standards.
