I don't see how having him not play speeds along his development

Neither do I, let him play and figure out what we have. I really don’t see this team making a whole lot of noise in the playoffs.

We’ll see.  Sal and Jeremy made it sounds like there’s a very good chance he goes back to the bench if he doesn’t show improvement

No we won’t.  This is a ridiculous thought.  They are all in on a Allen.  Derek is a mentor vet type who can play instead of that train wreck Pickerman if Allen gets hurt.  That’s it.  Everything else is just Allen doubters who want to speculate and ignore the obvious and what the team repeatedly has said.

Agreed...plus I would hate to have to watch Anderson play

This organization and McDermott would be repeating the same mistakes of the past if they bench Allen. He shouldn't be starting to begin with but their hand was forced due to Peterman playing poorly. However now that he is in he must be kept in as this is about the future of the team and not about hoping to squeak into the playoffs again. Try to keep things simple for him while he continues to learn on the job and hope for the best.

Uh, no. he's not losing his starting job to a 35 year old they're bringing in to mentor. The "win now" makes no sense. We're not signing Brady. It's Derek Anderson. He's a mentor and a safety valve if something goes wrong. Buffalo media is making a deal out of this because they have articles to write and air time to fill and it's Weds.

Don't really think they'll bench a healthy Allen over Peterson or Anderson.  But, it seems to me, that Allen has regressed some since his first start when he looked more accurate.

Did we trade for AP? That MUST mean we are trading shady then!!! Smart move Bills, smart..

Peterman and Anderson are terrible QBs...Anderson has just been around longer

Umm....Anderson is WAY better than Peterman ever could be.

No, he's not getting benched for Anderson.  The only way he comes out is by way of injury or a high sack game. Derek was hired to be a glorified player coach (qb) for Josh. Instill a little wisdom and play only if he has to. The bigger question is why is Peterman still on this roster?

I don't think they will. And if they do they need to go. I was in favour of signing Anderson, very much so in fact. But only to avoid Peterman seeing the fiels and making us a national laughing stock again.

Starting a first round QB is a can of worms... You can't put them back in.

The worst thing that the Bills did to EJ Manuel was bench him in the name of "win-now."

He likely would not have become a good QB, but that ruined any shred of a chance that he had left.

I think there is a chance if the bills win the next 2 with Allen looking like he did in green bay and then get smoked against the pats I could see them roll with Anderson against the bears.

I really dont think Anderson starts but I would say he plays in games to provide a "spark" if Allen is struggling

If Allen got hurt, I would put in Peterman. There is no long term benefit to having Anderson play. At least with Peterman you would see if he can at least be counted on to be the back up QB. Otherwise it is just a wasted roster spot and there is no reason why he should be on the active roster.

Ha, looks like he’s like “alright I’ll do it...but I’m gonna need to borrow a pee sample from someone...”.
