Yes, we made the playoffs with Taylor at QB. Any team is capable, in any given year, of reaching the playoffs with a QB like Taylor. As the old saying goes, "Even a blind squirrel..." For long-term, sustained success, a team needs a QB who can consistently throw from the pocket. I believe many underestimate what the Bills accomplished last year. When Rex was our coach, many on this board kept asking why he and his staff didn't design a system to utilize the player talents instead of forcing them to play in a system that they were not well suited to play. That is what this coaching staff does. We have a very raw rookie qb that played two years in the Mountain West Conference. The jump from there to the NFL is monumental. They are doing the right think by not asking Allen to do too much. Taking the pressure off of Allen by depending on the ground game, and giving him a simplified passing strategy is allowing him to experience success in the early stages of his development. In time, I am hopeful that we will see Allen develop into the pocket passer you are looking for. It us going to take time a patience. If we can win 6-7 games this rebuilding year with a rookie developmental quarterback, that will be a fantastic success. 1
DuckyBoys Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I fear they will turn to the Tim Tebow offense with Josh Designed read option runs is not how you want to preserve your qb no mater his size
