Jerry has been back to his best this year after a couple of so-so seasons.

Pete Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Hughes had 10 pressures against the Vikes! That is outstanding!

He was constantly in position to make plays last year. I just don't think he made them. He got pressure but didn't finish plays.

That's why the brought in Star, who has been doing the job this season.

In general they're doing more stunting with Murphy/Shaq, and rushing 4 in more creative ways. Murphy and Hughes aren't dropping into coverage a lot, but when they are it's actually disrupting passing lanes, and milano/edmunds have been creating pressure.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 Here's an area where the D can improve.
Doc Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Any stats from the time the defense started to improve, i.e. the 2nd half of the Charger game?

Only legit playmaker is McCoy and they don't give him the ball enough. Also Harper Valley middle school has a better playbook so that may be a slight issue.

Helpmenow Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Maybe it’s lack effort or lack of concentration here

It's nice to see after the slow start to begin the season. Speaking of DVOA: 'In particular, Arizona plummeted on offense, from -31.3% to -39.9%. That puts the Cardinals into rare territory as one of the ten worst offenses we've ever tracked through seven games. But the Cardinals still can't even come close to the impotence of the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo's offensive DVOA stayed relatively constant after the Indianapolis blowout, going from -53.4% to -53.2%. But most of the worst offenses we've ever tracked weren't staying constant around Week 7 -- they were starting to come back from their horrendous starts, slowly improving their ratings. Which means that the 2018 Buffalo Bills are now the worst offense in DVOA history, at least through seven games.' https://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2018/week-7-dvoa-ratings
