I would never be sarcastic about Cheektavegas. I learned my lesson long ago. On a drunken Saturday night many years ago, I made a disparaging remark about the lovely town of Cheektowaga. I woke up the next morning with the bloody head of a pink lawn flamingo in my bed. Message received.

Don’t mess with polacks!

I had a sub at John and Mary’s In Hamburg before the home opener. With a loganberry. Oh my.......

I've been living in the philthadelphia region so long, hearing that kind of sandwich called anything other than a hoagie seems wrong.

For someone flying in (my assumption), you can't beat:

Charlie the Butcher

Intersection of Wehrle Drive and Cayuga Road

It's about a five minute drive from the car rental return.

Dibellas all the way.

Someone told me that the sandwiches in Wegmans were actually DiBella's.

A plausible theory when you compare their rolls.

I believe wegmans borrowed from dibellas or at one time was affiliated.  I find that the people who work at dibellas are better at making subs that dont fall apart. ..wegs seems to be all high school kids who dont give a damn about the art of the sub!
