what’s neat about Edwards is he has some of the finesse parts of his game. I know JB almost died when he took that little transition pull-up today, but he can make that. I’d love to see him

put on weight and get more PT. I think he could be a very well-rounder center. Make some 10-footers; some baby hooks; develop a little post-up game. You can tell the raw talent is there.

Definitely. He has that finesse game but it's not fully there yet

And when he's getting 25 minutes a night and he's in rhythm that might be a good shot attempt.. in that fast break moment Edwards did make a bad decision.. but you live and learn

this whole season every time he gets in he always takes a 15 ft jumper lol it's definitely in his repertoire he just needs to get it to game speed

I feel like edwards fouls when he isn’t moving his feet on defense. We lost this game because we couldn’t shoot for *****. I’d love for dolezaj to come back and we run Edwards guerrier and dolezaj on the back line with boeheim girard and Richmond on rotation. If griffin gets his head out of his ass to then he can play up top or back corner too

I’d rather see Newton get minutes than Griffin. I think Griffin is gone.

Griffen is going to the Chinese basketball association

Edwards plays good for spurts but he really does struggle to rebound and hold the ball.. like boeheim says he loses to many balls he has his hands on

And he did today too..

He lost alot of balls that won't show up in the box score..but he will be good next year

I think you're trying way too hard here.

If you watched the game you really can't deny the impact Edwards had on the game.

I think Edward was solid, but like Jim has been saying all year.. he does struggle with physicality and I see it

Yeah he had six rebounds but it easily could have been 11 + , And hes a little quick to foul

Once he starts holding on to the ball consistently I think he will be really good.. like Jim says he's just not fully there

edwards struggles with physicality.. he really does.. he has moments but he fouls alot and doesn't hold on to the ball consistently

Edwards was the most physical guy on the floor tonight, yet Boeheim took him off in favor of the twig Dolezjai at Center.

On this you are wrong.

Edwards was pretty clearly the difference in the game.

We can agree to disagree. Our whole team had problems with the physicality

But Dolezaj has been our most important player the whole season. We run the offense through him at the top of the key

And I'm not trying to say Jesse had a bad game. I'm just saying I don't think him getting 10 more minutes would have made us win the game.. you win as a team and lose as a team

And he has a fouling problem which keeps him off the court for extended periods..

Next year, he should be a pretty nice player. He has nice offensive potential

How many rebounds or turnovers did he cause that weren't attributed to him in the stat sheet?

Agreed. But every time Edwards was on the court the team was different.

Did he? How many balls did he lose tonight? Next... how many balls did Girard, Griffin, Buddy, Dolezjai, Richmond, and Guerrier lose tonight?

Jim Boeheim is a fantastic coach... but unfortunately I don't see him getting a 2nd Championship that would put him in Elite conversation ala Coach K or Roy Williams.

I can't disagree with you. Edwards was actually very active in the middle of the zone today

He was deflecting a lot of balls

He just has a hard time right now holding rebounds in his hands.

And you're right guerrier lost some that were maddening, same with Buddy and Joe

You are right

That was a good shot. It's a shot he needs to take and make.

The problem is he doesn't get the reps so it looks like an awful shot despite the fact that he was wide open.

I'm sorry... we saw more awful shots tonight than that taken by every other Syracuse player not named Edwards.

I think it's a good shot when Jesse is getting a lot of playing time and those reps your talking about

He definitely has that in his repertoire, he just needs game time

I'm sorry I'm just so friggin angry at Boeheim right now. Maybe I'm oversimplifying but what was the point differential with vs without Edwards?

Having him on the court on D made a WORLD of difference!!! Isn't that the entire reason Sidibe saw so much playing time over his career??? He sure as hell wasn't a scorer.

Jesse Edwards finished today at a plus 10 which validates your point that he was active on defense

When asked why he took him out with 2 minutes left in the half, which Houston went on a 10-0 run... Boeheim said jesse was tired

What a bullchit copout.

This has always been my issue with Boeheim: he pulls his younger players incredibly early and keeps his older players in despite often head scratching mistakes.

There's this ridiculous seniority thing he has going his entire career for pretty much everyone other than 'Melo who basically forced his hand because of how great he was.

This is why Boeheim is stuck where he is. He underutilizes his great players. Just ask Dion Waiters.

Even at the weight he was this year Edwards should have gotten a lot more PT.

And honestly now I'm actually praying Sidibe doesn't come back because you can darn well guarantee Sidibe will start over Edwards even though he probably shouldn't.

@transplantbillsfan hang in there buddy. We're all feeling rough rn

From where we were in February, this team has overachieved, and gave us a fun year

Jim will reload

To be fair boeheim always uses his sixth Man great and waiters was always on the court late over Jr Brandon triche.. even played more minutes on the year off the bench

But I hear you Jim , always has a short bench and prefers guys with experience. .. even nba star Jerami Grant came off the bench his 2 years

I get it. And I won't pay much attention to the regular season until the last few games and Syracuse will make another "surprising" NCAA run but come up short of the ultimate goal of a championship.

It's become the norm.

And next year I do expect the regular season team to be better... but who the heck cares about the Syracuse regular season anymore???

Win a darn Championship Boeheim!!!

If Jesse Edwards continues to develop , we have all the pieces to win a national championship

We are a dominant big man away. We have size, athleticism, shooting ability, playmaking, and a five-star scorer coming in

I was surprised with JB’s presser answer re Edwards being “tired.” I think he could have given him a quick breather and used his own TO’s and the TV TO’s, and Edwards may have only needed to go out for like 3-4

total game minutes.

Edwards was a game changer on defense. Probably his best game.

That said, our O was stymied all night anyway. We made 13 shots! We needed someone to hit some outside shots— JG started to at the end, but it was too late.

They both are in all likelihood. We’re going to have 4-6 guys to replace this offseason.
