Justice Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 round pick. This guy was there reason McGahee didn't want to go back to UM. He was actually ahead of McGahee on the depth chart a few years ago up until his injury. This is his second year back from that injury and he played all of last year. his stats from last season don't look too impressive but the UM offensive line wasn't very ggod last year. The line suffered some injuries and they lost some guys in the draft. If we trade Henry, this guy would be a perfect fit. He can probably play some FB too because he is a pretty big back.
Tux of Borg Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Gore has had multiple ACL injuries and his numbers are way down from his freshman year. Too big of a gamble in the 3rd round IMHO.

Gore isn't nearly as good as Willis, and he's proven to be highly injury-prone. I wouldn't take him with a 5th rounder, much less a 3rd.
UB2SF Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 ...and a 6 for his Wonderlic score... the lowest of all Combine participants. I don't want to bash the guy for his well-documented learning disability, but it's another legitimate strike against him.
Albany,n.y. Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 He dropped about 25 pounds between the season & his workout. I don't really know what this means since he is a lot lighter than his seasonal playing weight. I don't really like it when a player adds or loses significant weight because you don't get an accurate read on what it will mean as a pro. A recent example of a guy gaining weight before the draft was Erik Flowers. Weight shifts present another layer of uncertainty in evaluating a player. Will the weight stay on/off? Who knows.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 He dropped about 25 pounds between the season & his workout. Probably did that to produce a better 40-time. It didn't help since he ran just under 4.60. His speed and quickness are gone. Forget him.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Dumb as a brick, constant injury problems and a string of inconsistent play...and yet people still want him. This is a deep draft with actually capable RBs...we dont need Gore.
Mark VI Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 This is a deep draft with actually capable RBs...we dont need Gore. 282651 But I heard of him. Therefore we MUST have him.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 But I heard of him. Therefore we MUST have him. 282652 Why have Frank Gore when we can have Maurice Clarrett? I've heard of him too!

nodnarb Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 gore is a ghost of his former self. gore will NOT be drafted before the 4th round, and I'll take ANY bet on the table that that holds.
Alaska Darin Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 But I heard of him. Therefore we MUST have him. 282652 Bingo.
Astrobot Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 But I heard of him. Therefore we MUST have him. You must be thinking of this guy. Gore
Alaska Darin Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 You must be thinking of this guy.Gore 282699 They AREN'T related?
MadBuffaloDisease Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 They AREN'T related? ...but they Doobie Brothers. Sorry, couldn't resist.
Alaska Darin Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 ...but they Doobie Brothers. Sorry, couldn't resist. 282712 I still laugh when I'm home and Brother Weese cracks that - and he's been saying the same things for as long as I can remember.
The Jokeman Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 They AREN'T related? 282708 No but I hear one of them invented this thing called the Internet. Back to Frank, 3rd Round is way too early, he should be around the 6th and although interesting, I'd pass.
bdelma Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 I'd take him in the fourth. he would be fine as a backup .
