Let's just expand our horizons to non Alabama / Panthers personnell before we make a decision If they can find someone better than Culley mid-season they should go for it. I don’t think he was a great choice.

Coaching career (HC unless noted) 1991-1993 Michigan State (GA) 1994–1995 Lakeland (OC/QB/WR) 1996 Northern Michigan (OC/RB) 1997–1998 Southern Illinois (QB/WR) 1999 Missouri State (OC/QB) 2000–2002 Western Michigan (QB) 2003 North Dakota State (OC/QB) 2004–2005 Cincinnati (QB) 2006 Michigan State (QB) 2007–2009 Michigan State (RB) 2010–2014 Central Michigan 2015–2017 Arkansas (OC/QB) 2018–present Alabama (QB) He has recent experience coaching QB’s unlike Culley. Seems like a guy who could replace Daboll if required.
DtownB2 Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 I'm sure he's great at developing college qbs. How about we get someone developing NFL QBs? Yes Tua is great but do we really know anything about how he'll be in the NFL?

He knows about a lot of offensive positions and he is a respected Xs and Os coach. That’s what you want in a QB coach... a guy who can see the QB position from multiple angles and coaches good technique Daboll is probably on the hot seat first, he isn’t as respected as Culley and has failed as an NFL o coordinator... and who has Enos developed? Not Tua who was already a star the day he stepped on campus and hurts is still Hurts... he didn’t develop either

He had success with Arkansas’ QB’s too. So why didn’t the Bills’ hire Culley as the OC If he’s as great as you suggest? I’d like to see younger coaches rather than retreads.

Some coaches have different strengths and weaknesses... Some are teachers and students of the game. They are Xs and Os coaches and teach players how to see the game...( The fake screen wheel TD Pass is all QB coaching, not play design... it’s a simple play, the execution by Allen was all taught by the QB coach... sold the screen in the flat, re locked on at the safety and held him, then quickly fired to his target.. that is what a QB coach is there for.. teaching how to manipulate defenses on a play) as for calling a game... he may not be the best in game play caller and that doesn’t make him a bad coach... it’s a hard job to be a good NFL playcaller... Daboll is struggling

Might even have ran away from the bust cause he saw it coming. That's a plus.

However, you said Hurts was still Hurts. That is simply not accurate. He is MUCH improved when it comes to seeing the field, and getting through progressions. I simply said Jalen is better this year. I can't say whether that has anything to do with Enos or not. I do find it telling that he stayed at Bama (as the backup) instead of redshirting. He may feel as though he is learning more from Enos than he could elsewhere?
