C.Biscuit97 Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Our coach is a great defensive back coach. Too bad he is in charge of picking all the other positions on the team. 2

mannc Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 It’s encouraging that after using almost the entire draft on defense, they found at least one guy who can play.?

RochesterRob Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 It would be a nice feeling to head into the next offseason knowing most of our defense is set. Let the high draft picks and FA dollars bring in the offensive pieces we currently lack.
starrymessenger Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Coach, to me, is extremely impressive as an evaluator of talent on the defensive side of the ball. And he's a top shelf DC. If he can grow into his role as a HC and show the same abilities with the O we will be in good shape.

That high third round pick could have been used on some sort of offensive weapon (Royce Freeman, Antonio Calloway, or—god forbid—a lineman). Too many holes to give up a premium pick for a linebacker. Maybe he’s still there at 22... Edited October 2, 2018 by mannc

The defender hits the QB and then turns his body as they both fall to the ground. This is going to be the technique we see from defenders here on out. Edited October 2, 2018 by MJS 1

I feel your pain regarding the lack of weapons on offence, but my sense of it is that Edmonds may well wind up a steal where he was taken and well worth the trade up. 2
Big Turk Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Yeah this staff really seems to be able to get good defensive players via the draft...hoping that doesnt mean they aren't very good drafting on the offensive side but it doesn't look promising so far...

Could be. And of course we don’t really know who they would have taken at 22 or with pick 65 if they’d kept it.

Especially since the Chargers literally said they were taking him at 17 if he was still there. They struck gold anyway with James but unless they are lying (why would they after the draft?) he certainly would not have been there at 22. 2

There was definitely a lot of interest in Edmunds, I highly doubt he would've lasted much later in the 1st: https://billswire.usatoday.com/2018/07/03/buffalo-bills-linebacker-tremaine-edmunds-was-nearly-a-miami-dolphins/ 1
